I grew up watching the first season of Gilligan's Island in black and white. These days they'll only play the awful looking colorized episodes of that season. The colors look awfully phoney. Faces look too red. Couldn't they have made them better looking since they had the other two color seasons to use as models? Anytime Gilligan's Island comes on and they play the colorized first season, I always turn the color off the TV and watch in black and white. If they can't make colorization look decent, I'd rather see them the same way I saw them as a child.

tv land shows the first season in black and white. i myself am against colorization too. i'm a big freak for keeping things original. i don't like remakes of movies or tv shows either.

Three movies that should be colorized.
1. Rumble Fish (1983). Only the fish were in color.
2. Raging Bull (1980).
3. The Wizard of Oz. The first 10 minutes are still in black and white. Hello!

offtopic: (The OT smiley isn't supposed to look mean...I don't want him to anyways...)
The first ten minutes of "The Wizard of Oz" are *supposed* to be in black and white. It's symbolic.
It's because Dorothy left the supposedly drab and boring Kansas for a magical, colorful land. It's deeper than that...but I'm tired and can't think of how to describe it. **stoopid grin**

Is Gilligan still on TNT? Is that where you see the first season in color? TV land only shows it in black and white.

The first season of GI looks frightening and weird in color.
