This may be wishful thinking on my part but I noticed that Leave It To Beaver...which was a TVLand regular is now being shown on Nick At Nite. Does anyone know if this was a show owned by Warner Bros.? If so, then maybe a lot of the shows that TVLand are dumping might be going to Nick at Nite. That might include CATM which is a Warner Bros. show. Keep your fingers crossed.

Leave it to Beaver on TV Land, not Nick at Nite. Nick at Nite is showing late 70's and 80's shows.

Uh, sorry to disagree..but I saw Leave it to Beaver on Nick at Nite...it was advertised. Maybe my programming is different than yours. Anyway, it would be nice to have CATM on Nick at Nite as long as they're running 70's shows.

I think GILLIGANS ISLAND & THE ANDY GRIFFTH SHOW come on NICK AT NITE. Or used to anyway. I had read that NICK Was going to more 70's or 80's shows..

I hope CATM comes to Nick at night. That would be awesome. I just don't want to see the show leave the air.

chicosladyfair, perhaps you saw a commercial promoting Leave it to Beaver on TV Land - on Nick at Nite. I know I've seen this commercial for TV Land shows on Nick at Nite before. Leave it to Beaver has been shown on special occassions on Nick at Nite, but it has never been a regular series.

You're right. I saw the same commercial again this morning. It was an ad for Leave It To Beaver on TVLand but it was shown on Nick.

This might be due to the fact that these two networks are owned by the same company....so if the reason CATM was pulled from TVLand's line up is because they lost WB license, then don't expect it to show up on Nick and Nite either! I suggest E-mailing Warner Brothers directly and asking them 2 questions.
1. Was the reason TV Land pulled CATM because they lost the license to air it?
and
2. Has Warner Brothers licensed any other networks or markets to air CATM?
If we let Warner Brothers know that there are many views who would watch it if it were marketed nation wide, they might be more willing to consider licensing it to someone. I can't imagine it is making them any mony sitting on a shelf somewhere. I may be a bit naive about how TV works, but they are in it to make money, aren't they?

Great idea! I went on Warner Bros website & couldn't find any info about the old tv shows they syndicate. The only tv show info they had was on new shows like what's on hte WB network. Maybe someone else can find out...

I found a e-mail address for the WB network and website. It's:

faces@thewb.com.

I don't know if it is the right one, but it wouldn't hurt to try it. I also found out that WB is part of the Turner Broadcasting network which is affiliated with Time/Warner. You might try to contact them at:

Turner Broadcasting
1050Techwood Drive NW
PO BOX 105264
Atlanta, GA 30318

I know I'm getting old but it seems to me that I remember an article somewhere a couple of years ago that told of Ted Turner trying to aquire The Nickelodeon Network and it's family of stations and Nickelodeon sucessfully thwarting the effort. TVLand and Nick at night are a part of this. If my memory is correct, and Ted Turner is a part of WB, it would go a long way to explaining what might be happening with WB programs on TVLand being pulled, if this is the case. I have been doing a lot of Sherlocking about this and what I have so far is just shear speculation on my part. I would appreciate any help in uncovering any FACTS that would support my suppositions.

BTW I have no love for Ted Turner, since his baseball team is an arch rival to my team! This has nothing to do with my research, just thought you should know.

Good luck with e-mailing and let me know if you find out anything. I will surely do the same.

BTW FYI: here is a copy of the e-mail I sent.

Dear sirs,
I am a HUGE fan of Chico and the Man. I noticed that it is distributed by your company. We (the fans of CATM) have been wondering why it and other WB distributed shows are being dropped from TV Land's lineup in October. Some have speculated that TV Land lost it's license to air them. Without divulging corporate secrets, I was wondering if you would mind answering a few questions.

1. Was the reason TV Land pulled CATM because they lost the WB license to air it?

2. Has Warner Brothers licensed any other networks or markets to air CATM?

Many fans of the show would like you to know that we enjoy it and would like you to consider finding a market nationwide for the old TV shows you have, like Chico and the Man.

Two other questions I am curious about are:

1. I am on the Dish TV network and I have noticed your WB station is not available. Can it be in the future?

2. Since you own the distribution rights to Chico and the Man, do you have any future plans to market it on VHS? I know many fans who have been inquiring about their availability.

Thank you for all your time in answering my inquiries.

Luckymama, you're terrific! Thanks for sharing your info; hopefully, together, we can convince the "powers that be" that CATM still has an audience!!
