Today I was watching the First Things First marathon on TVLand. Well, when it was time for Beaver to come on at 9:30 I was totally expecting the Captian Jack episode to come on, but instead it was the Beaver gets 'spelled one! I know that back when it originally aired in 1957 the network had to show the Beaver gets 'spelled one because the Captian Jack on had a toilet in it and that wasn't good to show back then. Normally when they have the first Beaver show on TVLand they show the Captian Jack one, so how come now they showed the other one? Oh, well, anyways, I'd never seen the whole "Beaver Get 'Spelled". I just LOVE the part when the boys are pretending to take a bath.

Maybe they are airing them as they were shown? Since 'Spelled' was the first one that they did show back in the 50s, I guess TVL considers that to be the first episode within that standard. I have no idea though.

I love the Spelled episode. I die laughing with that scene with the note. lol

I like this ep too. While I was watching it, I noticed something. In the scenes that show Miss Canfield, if you read on the chalkboard, it says something about California. I wonder if that's a possibility about where the Cleavers live? I was saying to myself, "Go back to a shot of the chalkboard!" All I could make out was California.
