I think the 'Golden Sitcom' years were in the 1960's. Every decade after that, the sitcoms got worse. It also seems that the more recent sitcoms are geared at audiences that have IQ's equal to their shoe sizes.

My favorites (ones I'd go out of my way to see):
Bewitched, Family Affair, Partridge Family

My 'next' favorites (will watch it if I'm channel surfing):
Happy Days (early eps only), MASH, Cosby Show, Flintstones, Honeymooners

Others I like alot:
Dick van Dyke Show (1960's), Any Lucy Show (1950-60), My 3 Sons (1960's), Brady Bunch (1960's), Gilligan's Island (1960's) and Mary Tyler Moore

With some exceptions you can see why I'm called the "60's Sitcom Fan"!
