John Mayer - Room For Squares

TJL,

They've kind of purposely shied away from the limelight since 1994's "Vitalogy," so a lot of people weren't aware of the new album (it just came out in November). They still do the occasional late night TV show appearance, but they absolutely refuse to associate themselves with MTV anymore, which helps bring their "star power" down. Every once in awhile, a Pearl Jam will become an unwitting hit. You might remember "Last Kiss" a few years ago, and Eddie's solo "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" (odd - I just realized both are covers) about a year ago getting heavy rotation on the radio.

But yeah, the album is great. Check it out if you get the chance.

Actually... that doesn't qualify as an album, because it's obviously a SINGLE.

I'm shocked that "Papa Don't Preach" peaked only at #67 even though she released a single. When an artist releases an official single, most of the time that helps the song on the charts, but on Kelly's case... it actually went down! :D

Yes, obviously she'd have the number one spot on my list but as I was about to put her, I realized her album came out in 2001, August 14 to be exact, but I guess you could count it seeing as all of her singles basically came out in '02

But the question was asking for the best ALBUMS, not SINGLES.

Just because it's a CD... it doesn't mean it's an ALBUM.

Actually, i think that the single is considered an album..The person who started the post didnt ask for your top 10 LP's of the year.

SINGLES AREN'T CONSIDERED ALBUMS!!!

6 remixes of one song doesn't make an album.

A LP has 10 or more songs. An album: A recording of different musical pieces. Singles have more than one song on it, therfore it could be considered an album. Its all how you interput it.

You are a giving the wrong definitions.

An LP is simply a phonograph record revolving 33 1/2 times per minute. The number of songs doesn't signify an LP.

An album is a musical piece that includes various songs. A single is a recording that includes a specific song (with it's remixes, acapella, or other various versions of that song) or/and a "b-side."

Get it now?

I understand you most of the time.... but at that time I didn't, but you cleared things up well.

Don't be self-conscience about your grammar... I've seen worse. Have you heard of Harper49?

Yeah, I heard some of it. It was good, but it definitely wasn't the only good album to come out in 2002.

No... but that was VERY off-topic.

If you wanted to list your favorite singles, you should of made a seperate thread for that.
