i watched the pilot episode of CATM this morning and it really was not that entertaining to me. So i guess i would need to see more episodes to really judge the show. I only seen two episodes which is not really enough to judge so i guess i will just have to see another episode with freddie prinze.

I'm confused!!!! Is there only going to be that one episode of Chico and the Man on? According to my TV-Land schedule, Bob Newhart replaces CATM starting tomorrow. I couldn't find any other time that CATM is on. I was hoping it was a typo on my cabl evisions part, but now I'm starting to worry that this morning at 8:30 was the only episdoe they plan on showing. Can anyone help me on this - P-L-E-A-S-E!!!!

Well TV LAND was only showing the first episode of Chico and the Man because it's a New Year's Day marathon of first episodes all day long. So it's not on the TV LAND schedule it was only apart of the marathon for New Year's day. Hope that helped

Thanks Solomon - that does help. Here I had my VCR all set up to start recording the show each morning at 8:30 a.m. BUMMER! I'm sorry you won't get to see more episodes because I'm certain that with each episode you would like it better and better. Freddie/Chico comes a long way from the cute kid Ed first hired to the handsome young man in the latter episodes. Everyone was so talented on CATM from Jack Albertson, Della Reese, Scatman Scrothers and of course, Freddie Prinze Sr. - and all the well-known celebrities they had on the show each week. It truly was a great show. Hopefully you will be able to find some episodes for sale on e-bay or perhaps they will eventually be shown again on tv. It will always be one of the best sitcoms in my book and Freddie Prinze Sr. will ALWAYS remain the sexiest (and funniest)young man I have ever seen!!!! ;)

Sorry you didn't like the show. If you watched more episodes I bet you'd like it. I saw it at my parents house new Yrs & had a blast! Woo-Hoo! I cried a little seeing Freddie come out & at the end when they showed him for the last time & showed the theme song. Couldn't cry too hard like I would've if I'd been alone cuz I didn't want my folks to see. It's so sad it is going to be gone forevery. :( :crying: Well my folks had us stay for breakfast & I had a busy but nice New Years Day. Wish Freddie had been on a little later in the day so I wouldn't have been so tired but just glad to see him :)

The second season was the best and funniest, IMO...
Pilot episodes are usually dedicated to setting up the premise of the show and usually aren't that entertaining...
Once things got going on the show, Freddie got to incorporate more of his stand-up act and impersonations--plus, Scatman didn't come along until later (he was hilarious!), and there were alot of celebrity guest-stars later on!
