View Full Version : Getting Lost
~LadyJess~ 12-31-2002, 04:21 PM The other day my friend and I were bored so we decided to take a mini road trip to Ford Field. It takes a little over half an hour to get there and I got there really easily but on the way back I got so lost. I had planned on being back at my house by 11:15 because my friend needed to be home by 11:30 but at 11:15 I was still lost on I-75. I was so scared, I had no idea where I was, I would get off at exits and then make all sorts of illegal U-turns until I finally got to where I wanted to be. I got home at 11:40 but it felt like it took a lot longer. That was the first time I've ever gotten lost driving.
Anyone got any interesting getting lost stories?
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 12-31-2002, 04:26 PM I suck @ giving directions. When I used to give them for my bday parties, parents would be calling saying theyre lost. I once sent someone to the Kingston Plains.

For the first time in our life...well...since I was a baby, my mom and I had the house to our selves. So we decided to drive to Inner Harbor to go to Hard Rock Cafe. Well...we got sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lost. We finally found a gas station and asked for directions. So, they told us. Well...we got on a road...and then up a hill I saw another road...and I was like, "MOM!!! UR ON THE WRONG ROAD!!!" so the only way we could get up there was to get on the road going the other way. The two highways were divided by a median. So my mom...who didn't wanna get lost...went over that median in the middle of the road...our minivan was scraping on the bottom of it, we thought we were gonna be stuck on top of it. Finally we DID get to Hard Rock Cafe...but I thought the car would explode the whole time. So we came home...she had a drink...lol...and we watched SNL.
Titania 12-31-2002, 04:36 PM i have no sense of direction....like a week after my friend got his license we decided to drive into the city.....yeah....i had the map- bad idea. I still dont really know where we were only we ended up up crossing into new jersey. We were on some road and the only thing around was this bar, so we went in to ask where we were. It was the sleeziest looking place in the world and everyone was staring at us. We finally did get home several hours later- I never get the map anymore. ;)
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 12-31-2002, 04:38 PM AH. I forgot. September 14th 2002. I called in sick to work (:nonono: ) to go to Suffolk Downs with my mother and meet the cast of American Graffiti. What shouldve been a 1 hr drive, turned into 3.5 hrs. But we didnt give up! Meangya, we went into just about every other city, went into the wrong directions, paid $3 toll to go into the Logan Aiport thing.. Ay yi yi. *breaksdown*
fr00ti 12-31-2002, 04:47 PM Oh my god not too long ago I got SO lost and It was like 11:00 at night. I have never gotten so scared before in my life. I finally just pulled over and called my mom on my cell and she helped me get back on the right road. That's always been a big fear of mine, getting lost while driving.
~LadyJess~ 12-31-2002, 04:53 PM Yeah I was so scared and thought I was going to have to call someone which wouldn't have been good since my parents weren't home and I had told my grandma we were going to a friends house. My parents don't let me drive places unless I know where I am going and they defiantly wouldn't let me drive down to Detroit at 11:00 just with my friend.
*Marilyn Monroe* 12-31-2002, 05:02 PM I've never gotten lost driving (maybe thats cuz I cant do it alone yet :) ) but me and my friend got lost when we were a block from her house. It was bad...we knew where we were, we just couldnt get home!

I've never gotten lost. I live in Alabama.
Know, actually, I haven't gotten lost while driving but I have on foot. It wasn't much fun. My friends and I were in the woods for quite some time. At least until dark. Coyotes weren't too far away and we actually found their den. Scared the mess out of us. After what seemed like forever but what was probably 4 or 5 hours we managed to make our way back to some country road and walk to my friend's house. We were socking wet from crossing creeks and me and this other guy had mud all over us. My other friend had to carry her shoes because the bottom tore off. We returned, afraid we would be in big trouble for staying out so late, and no one even realized we had been gone. It was so sad. They hadn't even missed us and we had been out and about panicking for our lives. I wasn't anymore than ten at the time, if that old. It was a scary experience to say the least.
The only place to get lost in Alabama I guess is the woods.

JDS84 12-31-2002, 07:32 PM I got lost in Orlando a few summers ago. It sucks being lost in a big city like Orlando.
Mijada 12-31-2002, 08:42 PM I got lost one time while I was sightseeing in Germany. I just started walking around snapping pictures and when I was ready to go back I didn't know where I was. The roads are so wierd over there. After about an hour I found my way back.

At least you were with a friend though. Imagine how much more scared you would have been if you had been by yourself.
How was Ford Field anyway? I haven't been there yet. Is it really nice like Comerica Park?

 Yeah, I guess it's safe to say we should both stick to the couch.
Good luck riding with your mom in the future, when you do venture to leave the safety of the couch temporarily;)

Yeah I know. I'm sitting there practically pissing my pants and at least my friend was there to keep me semi-calm.
Ford Field was really nice. I've been to 2 games there before. I actually think it is nicer than Comerica. Although both stadiums are really nice, after all they practically touch each other since there is literally only one 2 lane road between them.
