You people need to stop telling other people how to make their siggys its theirs not yours so what is the big deal? everytime i make a siggy someone always has something to say about it well shut up please cause it is pissing some people off.

B/C some people have slow connections, and its a pain to have all those huge pictures load while your trying to read a post..i guess thats why people say something, it does get annoying.

Oh well i can only say no one can tell me to change my siggy cause i will not do it.

Yeah they do lol but i'm not putting enymore big pics on from now on my siggy will stay the same for awhile.

Actually there are rules. They just aren't enforced very well. Two is the maximum number of pics and there isn't supposed to be more than 15 lines of text. No one reads them anyways except for the owner, if even them.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with the original poster of this thread. Other Chit Chat users have every right to complain about another users siggy if it is far too long (which many people's still are - naming no names). Like someone previously mentioned, there are rules about signature length and content but they are not very well enforced. This is unfortunate for someone like myself who doesn't have a very fast computer. In fact, "unfortunate" isn't the right word - it's a downright bloody pain in the arse!! It takes forever for a thread to load because of all the pictures and lines of text in some people's siggy's. They prevent me from reading any subsequent posts untill they are fully loaded. In fact, sometimes I don't even read whole threads cos I just don't have the time to sit and wait for all the posts to load. This really spoils my enjoyment of visiting Chit Chat.

The point was raised that very few people even bother to read anyone else's siggys. I agree with this also. I have absolutely no idea who half the people or shows that you guys constantly reference are. Who the hell is Joyce Dewitt? Who is Lu Delgado? I'd never even heard of Nancy Mc-whatzit till I came here either. And cause I've never heard of these people, their quotes don't interest me and so I don't read 'em. I bet none of you particularly care about my siggy either but at least mine doesn't take up about 40 lines!!!!

I love my siggy, but I always try to keep the pics as small as possible.

Look, maybe it would help if you only posted the siggy once. I know at times I post several replies to posts and I forget to unclick the sig box so it won't show. I've gotten a bit better about unclicking the box.

I'm warning everybody that if we can't come to a comprimise about the sigs, TJ might remove the function all together. I like having my ST pics in my sig and my ST pic in my avatar and I'd hate to lose them all together because someone has a big ass sig and refuses to shrink the text or resize the pics. jmo

TJ has asked people to keep their siggys down to below a roar. People have told you big siggy writers to please follow TJ's rules because you're making it difficult for many to enjoy the site.
One of the first rules of writing is, learn how not to be too wordy (or picturesque) in saying what you want to say. You don't need to break the rules of the board or make it tough for others on the board in order to express yourself and have fun. Dont be so damned selfish.

I agree. I'll admit I'm not the best at doing this but I don't have pics in my siggy or anything, but if you post in the same thread more than once is it really necessary to have your siggy on every post? JMO

I know a lot of people like to read siggys, but personally I don't care to, so I've disabled them in my option setup.
I don't have the slightest idea what anyone's siggy looks like. I do agree though that people shouldn't make things difficult for their fellow members.

I love to look @ everyones signs., especially when people change them (what can I say.. I get bored!). I try not to post my sign. in the same page twice, but lately Ive been forgetting.

As for everyones signs., I dont really care how they look-- just as long as they are approved by TJ and his rules. Some pics can get big, but if its only one pic, its no big deal.


What I dont understand is that the people who say they could care less about signs, have their own. If you didnt like signs that much, you wouldnt have one of your own. (Disregard the people who have them disabled like Janice lol)

The only thing that I dont like is when the signatures take up half the page of the thread. Thats really stupid. I hate that, and I hate when people have 4 or 5 huge pics in there too. I havent noticed anyones sigs that i didnt like lately....I think that the problem went down since TJ made a thread a LOOONG time ago about them.

I don't wanna get personal cos I said I wouldn't name names but you're being so arrogant about the subject that I don't feel I should have to spare your feelings:

Your signature IS far too long!! As far as I can see it hasn't been shortened at all (and if it has indeed been shortened you couldn't have cut anymore than a couple of lines from it cos the difference isn't noticable)!
It's all very well loving your signature and I don't doubt that you put a lot of time and effort into getting it just the way you want it, but clearly other people don't love it cos many have told you that it's simply too long! The fact that this thread has already stretched for 3 pages would suggest that Chit Chatters feel very strongly about the subject.

Ditto, it'd be absolutely ******** to be banned because of a sig- especially if you've been here a long time.

To save time in the long run, why can't you just rotate pictures out, Joyce Dewitt? That's what I do. Believe me, at times I wanted to add a 3rd picture. I decide against adding a 3rd pic and just switch out one already in my sig. It really is inconsiderate to those that have really slow connections....
