I just watched the episode where the town folk, including Andy, recorded a tape that became an album. Andy Griffith was a good musician aside from an actor. The man who recorded the music on the show went by the mame of Mr. Maxwell. In real life, a man named Alan Lomax traveled the Appalachians and other backwater areas of America to do just what Mr. Maxwell did in Mayberry: record folk music. The taping they made for the show really was recorded for sale and is still available. Does anyone have it?

I don't have it. I bet a person could find it on ebay, you know how ebay works. You can find anything on there. It'd be a great collectors item.

Actually Jenny, the narrator on TV Land before the show said that the recording is still widely available. So I guess it's not hard to get. I mostly was asking if anyone happens to have it. The music that they let us hear on the show was quite good.
