View Full Version : Happy Days episode # 109
TroyH3 12-28-2002, 11:30 AM I wanted to know if TVLAND or NICK@NITE were going to be showing Happy Days Episode #109 (OUR GANG) ???
This is the episode that actually flashes back to when Richie and Fonzie first met. I wish this would have been a regular episode all by itself.
If anyone knows when they will be showing this episode anytime soon, please respond. I have already checked the schedules two weeks in advance and this one is not being shown.
Thanks

You can't be "the fonz" is you were....... this forum board would be so trafficked, it would bogg down and collapse!!
but cool your moniker is the fonz!!

I agree about the board collapsing, everyone would like to chat with The Fonz! Once again sorry about the confusion!
TroyH3 12-28-2002, 03:23 PM Hey Fonz, since we're conversing on the subject. And you seem to be a huge fan of the show I'd like your thoughts on something.
I myself really loved the show during the first two seasons 1974-1975. To me the show had more of a 50's feel to the show and storylines. Fonz, Richie, Ralph, and potsie's hair had the grease look , clothes more 50ish look, and the fonz was someone who was feared but at the same time was more mysterious in his character. After, I would say 76 season, the guys hair seemed to take on a 80's thick style to it, the storylines seemed to be about anything not 50's. And the fonz was just another guy in the family to me.
What are your thoughts on this matter? This is just my .02cents.
I thought the show kind of lost it's appeal when the guys had their hair not slicked back, the fonz was just another guy, and Al's changed to the new building. I especially dislike the show
in the early 80's. Sorry to be kind of negative, but i love the show in it's early run, but afte that.... it just went south for me.
Looking forward to your thoughts,
regards
troy
TroyH3 12-28-2002, 03:30 PM when i go to wgn.com website and pull up tonight's lineup,
they have everybody love's raymond instead of happy days.
where did you find out that happy days is coming on wgn tonight?
just curious even though i can't get WGN.

troy

troy Well, I did like the look of everythin in the first 2 seasons, everything was just like the fifties. The first two seasons really depicted the 50's, the 5th to 11th seasons were more like the 70s and 80s, the fashion the hair..ect was all 70s & 80's style, of course I love all the Happy Days the same all the way thru! I just wish they wouldn't have let Ralph Malph get that HORRID afro 'do! puke:

wayne 12-28-2002, 04:56 PM Look for a missing scene in WGN: It happens right after Fonzie drops his "falcon" jacket on a trash heap: It contains a line or 2 from Ritchie to Chachi. NICK skips this part with a commercial, if I remember.

i was just there and did a schedule search but it only goes up to two weeks.

troy
TV Favorites 12-29-2002, 06:25 PM It's not on the TV Land site.
Also, since the date is so far in advance, it may change before that time. If you want, PM me a week or so before the date I posted and I'll check to see if it's still on. Or better yet, you should be able to check the official TV Land site by that time.

Yeah, I have the same opinion. I like the '74-'76 seasons best. It really had the look of a '50s show. It did get somewhat ridiculous during the '80s. I mean the Fonz went from organizing drag races to organizing a classroom! Guess which one was more interesting to watch. But, I still watched Happy Days every week. Unlike "Laverne & Shirley" and "Three's Company," I don't think I saw the first episode when it aired; I became a regular viewer (I would guess) in late 1974 or early 1975. I was (am) a big fan of the show. In fact, for a while, in the mid-'70s, "The Fonz" was my favorite TV character. I remember "Fonz-mania" very well.

Fonz-mania lasted much longer- from 1975 until (approximately 1979). And, I would say it was just as big as NSYNC. Henry Winkler's image was on many magazines, tabloids and the T.V. Guide. That "Mad"-like magazine ("Cracked") published a whole issue just on "Fona-mania" (I still have that mag. somewhere).
