View Full Version : CATM: the saga continues.........
Luckymama58 08-18-2001, 04:32 PM Hey gang, I encountered a stray thought while I was taking my shower (where all my great ideas pop in for a visit! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/lol.gif ) and I decided to give it a shot. We have speculated on this and other boards how long the show would have lasted if Freddie had lived. As an author of Fan Fiction and a participant in the CATM role play on this board, I know how the creativity of imagination helps to keep Freddie alive for me. I decided to give everyone an opportunity to experience this for themselves and share it with the rest of us. I am starting this thread for all of us who have had the urge to be budding script writers for Hollywood! On this thread you are to imagine yourself as a potential script writer pitching your idea for a CATM script. You do not actually have to write the script, but pitch the idea to us, the executives of the studio. There are a few guidelines, not unlike those real script writers would have to follow:
1. Your idea must center on the two main characters, either Chico or Ed or both. After all, we pay Freddie and Jack to be the stars.
2. The show must follow all established facts concerning the characters and the history of the show.
3. You may use as many of the reoccuring cast members as you wish, or none at all, but remember rule #1.
4. You may use a past guest character or invent a guest character if you wish, remembering not to violate rule #1.
5. Remember this is a half hour show. You may try to get ambitious and try to pitch a two parter, though! The shows format is two main parts with a short tag at the end, but I will not hold anyone to that format if it poses a problem. Some of the more ambitious among you might want to take on that challenge, though!
I'm going to be the head of the studio, so I will try to refrain from pitching my ideas and sit back, comment and enjoy yours!
Let the ideas begin!

I Think it would be interesting to see how Ed and Chico would handle finding a baby on their doorstep!
We've seen how they were with Morgan, but she was older and when the baby was born in the garage we never actually got to see them with a baby.
I think it would be hillarious if they had to change a baby or trying to figure out what it needs to eat. Or how they would handle a teething infant-especially during a football game!
Luckymama58 08-18-2001, 07:01 PM Cool idea, Joy! Sort of a 2 men and a baby idea... hmmm...that has some interesting possibilities! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/lol.gif
This is a great start!
Who's next?
(BTW, You may enter as many ideas for shows as you like! And everyone is on the studio executive board, so feel free to comment on all the ideas too!)

hue_mee 08-18-2001, 09:17 PM Hey! How about a road trip to Vegas! Louie can take Rosebud on one last trip before she goes on her last lap. Chico could visit his cousin Pepe who just happens to be preforming in Vegas. Reverand Bemis tags along to make sure Ed, Louie, and Chico behave on the trip. Although Chico, Louie, and Ed find later that Reverand Bemis gets the gambling bug and makes a killing. How about a suprise visit with the flying Elvis's featuring non other a few of the cast members to be kept secret till the official air date of the show. Also it wouldn't be Vegas if there wasn't a suprise wedding featuring a member of the cast.

Ed and Louie are on a fishing trip.
Chico, with the help of Mando, minds the garage. Over a couple of nights, they hear strange noises and see weird things. They get a psychic gypsy (guest star Robert Hegyes) to hold a seance.

Luckymama58 08-18-2001, 09:37 PM Hue_mee, I think I saw this script on the freddieprinze.homestead.com board! LOL! It was a wonderful show!
luvinjuan... I love a ghost story and Mando and Chico would make it hillarious, just like the old Abbott and Costello routines, I bet!
These are great show ideas! You all should have written for the show!
Keep em coming, keep em coming!

luvinjuan1980 08-18-2001, 11:41 PM Thank you, I also love the Vegas Road trip too. Now that you mention it, That does remind me of Abbott and Costello.

Luckymama58 08-25-2001, 04:05 PM It's been a while since I have had any ideas for shows submitted. Now that we are in the "Chico-less" episodes again on TV Land, *sob*, let's put on our thinking caps and come up with new episodes of CATM for our beloved Chico.........

Cheryl Harrell 08-27-2001, 01:37 AM Ed gets a cold & is breaking out the hanky, Louie gets the cold too & is breaking out the hankys, Rev Bemis gets the cold & is breaking out the hankys too. Chico is afraid he'll get the cold & tried to avoid getting it. In the end he gets the cold too & is breaking out the hankys.
Ed, Louie & Chico find Raul like Ed did in the first Raul episode except Chico is alive...
Chico feels bad after Ed takes in Raul fearing Ed will like Raul better than him. In the end Chico discovers Ed loves them both & no need to fear.
Ed & Chico adopt Raul.
Chico gets married.
Ed gets re-married.
Chico goes out on a blind date.
