But I don't Christopher 12-25-2002, 07:56 PM my mother likes watching that show.. i would too if it didn't come on the same time as Passions Kay Scarpetta 12-25-2002, 08:25 PM I hate Jerry Springer, yet it cracks me up at the same time DarleneIllyria 12-25-2002, 11:08 PM I used to watch it for the fights. Then I kind of lost interest in the show when all the chicks started stripping the second they got on stage. I could understand the fake fights and having your shirt ripped or whatever, but I mean to just come onstage and before you even say one word to anybody, you take your shirt off. It was at that moment that I realized the fake fights fell to the back burner and the stripping was pushed front and center. White_Daisy 12-25-2002, 11:24 PM When do I watch the show? Hmmm...Snow Day....when it's really snowing and there's nothing to do. I watched earlier this month...turned it on just as a lady was stripping on stage and her cousin/lover/father of one of her children/godfather was screaming at her for sleeping with the neighbor's girlfriend who is also his mother. Even if that's not the exact storyline, there's bound to be something close to it. White_Daisy 12-25-2002, 11:25 PM We did a Jerry Springer meets Happy Days thread on the Happy Days board. You guys should go see it, I think we got pretty close to how Jerry Springer would treat it. Brett Ferino 12-25-2002, 11:40 PM Like three years ago whenever my dad was home, he'd let me watch it. Now he does'nt because it has gotten worse ever since. Will and Grace Fanatic 12-26-2002, 02:28 PM I haven't watch it for a long time. I finally realized it's a really stupid show. Like the Man Show. stupid stupid ¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 12-27-2002, 12:43 PM I love Jerry Springer!! Everyone says hes fake... but I dont think it is. Its obvious they over dramatize it, but I still think its real. Remember that person who got killed last year? Christopher 12-27-2002, 02:05 PM Originally posted by ¤MsConanOBrien¤ Remember that person who got killed last year? Wasn't it the man who killed his wife after he discovered she was cheating on him???? These talk shows get too controversial imo. Like that Jenny Jones episode about secret lovers I think.. Anyways that guy was embarrassed and killed that gay guy because he had a crush on him. What an ass hole imo. Georgia's on my Mind 12-27-2002, 03:09 PM i always hated this show, now Jenny Jones...diffrent story... Kristina 12-27-2002, 03:14 PM I love Jerry Springer!!! I watched that christmas episode yesterday that christmas food fight rocked it was alot of action. I always watch Jerry he is my favorite talk show person, it's so funny. I saw something on a Jenny Jones E! true hollywood story it showed a clip of that episode and the guy was kind of laughing and shocked, it didn't look like he wanted to kill him. He was embarresed so he killed him, thats really sick and wrong. AllIWantIsYourClutch 12-27-2002, 03:25 PM Okay I found out it was fake like last year....i felt like a moron cuz everyone already knew it. Yea anyways. My friend's sister's boyfriend was on there once. He "like to lick toes" and "peel latex off of his girlfriend." The girl who was his g/f on the show wasn't his real g/f....yea i found that amusing. But I watch it for a good laugh. We watched it in school once. My seminar teacher was tryin to find our school news thingy on the TV and Jerry Springer came on. Yea I'm rambling now. F*O*L 1988 12-27-2002, 05:00 PM It seems pointless to me. Why do they even need a host? LOL Once the people come on stage, everyone forgets about Jerry!!:happyface Brian Damage 12-27-2002, 05:55 PM I use to watch everyday, I even used to tape it. Now however, it just got played out and they stage the fights rather than have them do it naturally. Kay Scarpetta 12-27-2002, 05:57 PM Originally posted by F*O*L 1988 It seems pointless to me. It's trash-TV at it's lowest ebb! Kay Scarpetta 01-29-2003, 05:08 PM Haha....I walked into the office this morning with my friend and we saw our principal holding a piece of paper in her hand with a message to call someone back. She goes "I've gotta call Jerry Springer back"....I look on the paper and it says Jerry Springer- then a phone number. Probably someone with the same name, but I hope this doesn't have anything to do with her ex-husband! :eek3:  Warm & Fuzzy 01-29-2003, 09:08 PM I watch it from time to time.. I hate those [beep] interruptions, though. ;) ¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 01-29-2003, 09:19 PM Originally posted by Mossopp I HATE It's trash-TV at it's lowest ebb! Thats what makes it so great! I mean, it *was* voted #1 worst TV show EVER by TVGuide. :woohoo: LOl.. I also love end where the show it backstage with Steve and a guest. My fav. besides the audience questions is when they go on the scene. Especially the trailer parks LMAO and someones always emptying the moonshine. TMC 02-27-2017, 05:32 PM http://mentalfloss.com/article/92307/12-wild-facts-about-jerry-springer-show Nothing is more synonymous with trash TV—or early reality TV—than the syndicated The Jerry Springer Show. Former mayor of Cincinnati Springer has taped almost 4000 episodes over the course of 26 seasons, and featured more than 35,000 guests. Because the format allowed for crass topics and guests who weren’t afraid to throw chairs at each other, in the late 1990s the show’s ratings topped Oprah Winfrey’s. Over the years, guests have accused the producers of staging and encouraging the fights for ratings. Still, it’s been popular enough to remain on the air since September 30, 1991. Here are 12 final thoughts about the controversial talk show, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. |
