Okay, so I was browsing www.barnesandnoble.com today and happened upon the newly-published "Gilligan's Wake" by Tom Carson. It's a novel with the seven characters based on the castaways. It's supposed to be them before the shipwreck...but not really. Like, it's "The Seven," but not exactly them...the details don't match, but that's the point. The whole purpose I think is to mock stuff of the times. I don't know if I'm making any sense at all. LOL.
Search for it at Barnes & Noble's site and read the synopsis before you think I'm completely insane. It looks really interesting...and not just b/c I'm obsessed w/ GI. LOL. I'm totally buying it w/ my Gift Reciept sometime really soon!
(PS: Merry Christmas! Gotta go to sleep so Santa will bring me my Gilligan. Julie: good luck gettin' your Proffy... LOL)

More info on the novel:

That's the News section of my GI site with links...
You can read excerpts and other scans at the Amazon.com site. There's this great Dawn pun on the Front Flap scan...it's classic. I about died laughing because of the cleverness. Wow, I love smart authors.
(the Cleaver Ward of the hospital...HA! Sorry, little obsessed w/ this book...)
Gonna go sleep now. **falls over**

LOL! oh my...that looks....interesting. i just read the little preview thingies that they give....and i don't think i caught half of the stuff thrown in there (Cleaver Ward...LOL). i didn't understand most of what "Maynard" was saying....darn beatnik talk. but it looks interesting to say the least. read it and tell me what it's like....i trust your opinion more than those reviews on the back. lol
oh, and....santa didn't come through with my young Proffy. *cries* maybe it's a delayed present. i'll find him eventually.

I can't find it at Barnes & Noble. **dies** And I'm NOT paying full-price for it elsewheres. B&N Store Credits aren't good online...that so pisses me off. I have one that I need to use... Bah.
Julie: I'm so mentioned in your Diaryland thingy. LOL. Yes, I am dying to read your story, so GET GOING! **motivational shove**
I will continue to search for the novel for less than retail price. (My mother has taught me well...and I'm broke. Hee.)

I just found out that the release date is January 1st. So, next week I'll head on over to B&N (THEY BETTER HAVE IT). I'll save alot of money using my Store Credit.

I'm bumping this up because I was just informed that there is a mini-article about Gilligan's Wake in the newest TV Guide on the first page, I believe. I won't know what it says until Saturday when I swipe the Grandma's TV Guide. LOL.
Also, I ordered the book from Barnes & Noble on Friday and it came in yesterday. I'm going to get it on Saturday and will have a full review after I read it. Yay!
