Last week for my birthday, my sister gave me "The Freddie Prinze Story" by Maria Pruetzel---she won it on e-bay! What a great present! The book is very good!

And I was expecting socks for my birthday! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/happyface.gif

Karen, I'm so happy for you! LOL http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/lol.gif RE: socks! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. It is a sad book, but his mother has a lot of Faith and it comes through when she tells his story. Happy Birthday, and again, enjoy!

So glad you got the book! I remember how excited I was when I got mine. I'd love to know more about Maria Pruetzel - where she is, how she is and what she's doing now.
It's great too, to have the book to go back to when it's being discussed on the board.
I feel a lot closer to Freddie Prinze now since I read it - I feel like I know him!!!

FROM THE VACATIONING CHERYLHARRELL:

Congrats on getting the book! The book is a real tearjerker & portrays how he really was -- his religious side. Before I got the book, I read the excerpts that were posted here on the CATM boards. It had you crying
over your computer. When you read the sad parts, it'll have you reaching for the hankys. I am sooo glad I got the book. It portrays Freddie -- the sweet young dear who sadly was addicted to the pills & depressed, yet thru it all even tho he committed suicide both he & his mother kept their faith in God. It portrays him as a dear sweet boy who had his faith in God but the
pills overtook him along with the depression & he sadly ended it all. It was so nice to read about the real Freddie for a change instead of the one the media write about who they make out to be some drug addicted suicidal person. You'll really enjoy the book! : )

I am always happy to hear when another one of us is able to get this wonderful, very moving book, but this is especially nice since it was a birthday present. Glad your sister understood well enough about your love for Freddie that she went to the trouble. I agree with Cheryl and the others who say it portrays the real Freddie--the young man who was kind, sweet, multitalented and emotional, but unfortunately afflicted with a disease called depression. Enjoy, Karen (and anyone else who is fortunate enough to obtain the book)!

Happy Birthday and Congratulations on your receiving this sincere and heartfelt book. I agree that is was truly sweet and understanding of your sister to make it a present to you. Also, that it gives the reader wonderful insight into the "real" Freddie. One comes away with so many emotions flowing. I'm happy for you. I know you will enjoy it and refer to it often. The faith exhibited by he and his Mom is admirable.

FREDDIE FOREVER!
