I was just down at the Chit Chat board and they're having a Christmas party and that got me thinking..:idea: Why don't we have a HAPPY DAYS Christmas party tomorrow on Christmas eve? WE can all exchange cards and such..It could be fun! Sound good? If so who all is coming? Right now I'm gonna start working on my Christmas card to everyone!

That sounds like a REALLY cool idea!! I wish I could join in on the fun, but after working a double shift today, having to work tomorrow and also having to work on Christmas, I doubt I'll be around. I've got to spend some time with my friends and family, who have lately begun to think that I've fallen off the face of the earth!


Just think, instead of visions of sugar plums dancing in our heads, we'll have visions of Happy Days! :D

Got that right! Happy Days is gonna be on all our minds!

Im in! Im working tomorrow 7am-12pm. I then have to go out and get a couple more presents (should be *ahem* fun), but Ill be on before 5! I also have to wrap and then go outside to see Santa drive by on the firetruck, then we head off for Nancy's (our moms friend) its a dtradition. But, you can count on it that Ill be on 2 NITE too! :D

I used Animation Shop Pro which usually comes w/Paint Shop. The "Happy Days" intro graphic is located in the sitcoms online HD page. I saved that and then the avatars from the board. After that I just opened a new project in Animation shop. For this one, all I had to do was opened the last one and add/replace frames as needed.

Wow! I was told that I can have tomorrow off since I've put in so many extra hours at work! I'm still busy as ever though. I worked today until 2:30 pm and had the BEST day. One of the residents (aprrox. 15 yrs.) who doesn't like many people/ including me (I thought) was wonderful to me today. Before I left I had a "private" talk with him and another resident and they were like "Bye, Ms. CollegeGirl (yep, that's my real name!) Merry Christmas!!" It was such a touching moment. After work, I got to fight the crowds and finish my Christmas shopping. Now, I have to WRAP all that stuff.

I should explain that usually you can talk to these kids and they just stare at you or else totally ignore you. Mostly, they look at you briefly, then turn and do whatever they were going to. So, the fact that they actually said "goodbye" and used my name was a big thing for them. Funny, when you work with kids the least little things can excite you. *LOL*

Thanks! Working there has definitely been an experience. I have chased down kids with weapons, been cursed at and threatened, blocked fights, been pushed, etc. And I am actually one of the popular staff who most of the kids respect. . My field of study in college is elementary education, and let me say that none of my courses ever prepared me for anything like this. But, given all it's negative sides, it is also an extremely rewarding job-- if it wasn't I don't think I would've made it this long. *LOL* I've had some really great times with the kids, when we all just relax and have fun. Yesterday we all had a playstation tournament, played gameboys, listened to Christmas music and just sorta hung out.

I spent most of today sleeping since it's my only day off and I'll be pulling 16 hour shifts for the next two days. Then, I went to my grandmother's house. Later, I'm going to my cousin's to see her and her fiance.
