Just in time for the New Year. A chance to plan your holiday viewing ahead of time. I am going to post the times and channels where you can watch your favorite shows from the 50s, 60s, and 70s on Canadian stations. All times are from Mon-Fri unless otherwise indicated. You probably already know about PRIME and CTS but there are also 2 other main channels where you can watch the old classics. They are TV Land Canada, modeled after the US channel, and DejaView, which is partnered with PRIME and carries many of the same shows. They are both only available on digital cable, which I don't have and can't afford, but I'm including them for those that do have them or are thinking of buying them. I'll have episode guides for individual programs after the New Year. If you don't see your favorite show on this list, it isn't available at the moment, but might show up in the future if you keep your fingers crossed. For now, here's what's on:

You guys have the best shows. I wish the channels I have would acquire the rights to most of these shows. They don't realize what great classics they are.

Sigh. Exactly. What I wouldn't give to have those Canadian channels.

I think it's a pretty unfair thing that Canadians get to see so many American TV classics, but we get to see no Canadian TV classics. If there was a channel that ran shows from Canada, what classic shows would you pick to put on there, Sal?

There aren't that many Canadian shows that I would consider classics. I'll talk further about this sometime next week. For now I would include stuff like "SCTV", "The Kids In The Hall", "Bizarre", "The Beachcombers", and "King Of Kensington" plus a couple of others whose names escape me at the moment. Anyway, stay tuned. I'll have more names later.

I declare war on Canada until they give us uncut classics SEVEN days a week.

Details of actual war to follow.

As of yesterday (Jan. 2/03), "Webster" has been added to the CTS lineup and airs at 4pm EST. It's cool because I haven't seen that show in I don't know how many years. It's not a bad station period. They also air Growing Pains, Family Ties, Valerie/Hogan Family, and Happy Days among others.

We give you guys all our best comedians--Jim Carrey, Mike Meyers, Michael J Fox etc--not to mention the talents of Keifer Sutherland, Jason Preistly, the guy who played Ryan on All My Children--instead of actual tv shows.

Not anymore it isn't! It's been replaced by "Hollywood Squares".

I miss Paul Lynde.
