Man Have you guys notice how much the writers really screw up.... Check these out...

Don't Mess with Wrestlers
In one episode of That 70's Show! Red, Eric and the gang go to see a WWF wrestling match. However, the Wrestling Leagues weren't united as the WWF until much later and at the time that the episode was supposed to be, they were divided up into regions.
Wrong Choice of Words
In one episode, the guys are given an 'adult' film to watch. They don't know what it is so the one guy unrolls a few feet and holds the film up to the light. He announces that it's a 'porno' film. The word 'porno' wasn't used in the 70's. The film would have been called a 'stag' film or maybe a skin flick.
Literal Slip-up
The Christmas episode where they steal a tree so they can buy beer. When the stupid guy runs over to the girl and tries to hurdle the couch, he falls. That wasn't supposed to happen, but it was so funny, they left it.
Life!
Watch the episode where the guy is playing the Game of Life with his stoner boss at the fotomat. They were playing the updated version that was released in the early 90,s. They should have been playing the older version.
Background Set
In the beginning of the episode, when Eric is standing on a chair in his room to get Fez a blanket, the top of the set can be seen at the top of the screen. It's a black square with some lights.
Wrong Season
This is about the show where the Formans try to outdo their neighbors at a Veteran's Day barbeque.
Veteran's Day is November 11th. The show is supposed to take place in Wisconsin. If you view this episode, you will see that Michael is wearing a short sleeve summer shirt, women are wearing light summer dresses, and the trees have their leaves. On November 11th it is cold in most parts of the country, especially, I would think, in Wisconsin, and the people would be dressed quite differently!
Guess?
In an episode from the second season (I can't recall it well) Eric is wearing a t-shirt, a very dirty one, but if you look closely you can see that its a Guess brand and that brand did not exist until 1982
The Original Wuss
In an episode from the second season (I can't recall it well) Eric is wearing a t-shirt, a very dirty one, but if you look closely you can see that its a Guess brand and that brand did not exist until 1982

and that's only a few....

Wow the writers are on something for real man...lol:lol:

Check out the beer cans in all the episodes.

In most of the episodes they are pop-tops which were not around in the '70s.

I think since most of the viewing audience is people who weren't around in the 70s the writers or who ever is in charge of props think they can just slack off and fool everyone but some things are really obvious like them wearing summer clothes in November on Veterens day in Wisconsin .Yeah Right they would have frost bite!

Come on, MonarC.

You just copy pasted these from a site. You even copied the last slip up twice for some reason.

Not all of these are even legitimate; The term "Porn" or "Porno" were starting to get in use in 1978 since actual Porn movies such as Deep Throat (1972) and the Devils in Mrs. John (also 1972) were becoming popular as opposed to just short stag feature where you'd get in a private booth to watch a girl screw a dog. As a matter of fact, since the gang was in a theater, they were definitely watching a Porno movie and not a stag feature. Heck, this era of big budget porn is referred to as the "Golden Age of Porn" as opposed to today where movies are made to go directly to the video store. Boogie Night Was set in this environment.

There's not a date at which "Stag" disapeared and was replaced by "Porn" in the popular language and It's perfectly possible for Eric and the gang to have referred to what they were seing as Porn in 1978 even though a lot of people still used the term "stag" at the time. Especially when you consider that they are young and less likely to use the same terms as their parents.

These lists of slip up are just compiled from the comments of several different obsessive posters, and not all of them even know what they're talking about.

Personnally, I never noticed a slip up at first watch. I mean, I know that Nunavut is a recent addition to Canadian's map, but do you think I was watching the map in the background during Canadian Road Trip? Of course not, and I highly doubt you were either.

The writers do between 25 and 27 show in a year. They just can't put the same amount of research into it as they would a movie. Slips up are inevitable and do not really detract from the show considering jow few people actually notice them during their first viewing.

Now that the show seems to have a bigger budget perhaps they can/have hire an historian to look for these slips up, but it's not big deal.

And now that I think about it, the writer have nothing to do with most of the slips up you mentionned.

They wrote the line about porn, but as I wrote in the previous post, it's not even a slip up.

The rest is just none of their doing.

You see a Guess brand name? That's whoever dresses the cast mistake. You see an outdated map of Canada? That's whoever make up the temporrary sets mistake.

I doubt very much any writer penciled in that an outdated map of Canada should be in the background during a given scene.
