Everyone is stating how much they like FOL, but what about the bad points about FOL?

I think they shouldn't of ended in 1988, they should of at least went to 1989 so they could have hit the 10 year mark.

yea, but there was no point..it sucked without Mrs. Garrett.

That's what I hate...that Mrs. G left. I can't help but wonder if they could've worked out SOME deal with Charlotte...maybe that she just was absent from more episodes or something, so she could have time to do other stuff..but..LEAVE THE SHOW?!?! It's just not FOL without Mrs. Garrett...

You do have a point, but at least they let her exit the best way possible. Some characters are killed off if they don't want to continue on the show.

Um, I dislike some of the cast additions during the show. I like Andy, George, and Beverly Ann. I can stomach a little bit of Pippa, but not that much. I never was fond of the Kelly character or the Roy character. Then again they were only in a few eps and the problem was solved with those that didn't particulary care for Kelly or Roy.

That's all I can really think of.

It's like when Nancy McKeon quit in 1982, she had the chance to give up the part of Jo, which by the way wasn't the true reason FOL gained popularity in 1980, and start in a brand new seiries called Dusty as a girl named Slugger. Yes, even Nancy McKeon herself knew Jo wasn't any good.

Anyways, I too didn't like it when Mrs. Garrett left. I also didn't like the guy they made Jo marry. I think they could have done better, or at least made a character that matched her personality.

hmm...I guess you have a point there, too. I wonder what other ways they could've come up with to have her "leave the show with dignity." cause now I don't like it when people mention Africa...

i forgot to answer the question.....i don't care much for pippa. she got on my nerves a little. and believe it or not, i didn't care for some of George's appearances. for the most part i liked him, but there were a few times when he just annoyed me. i hate how he said "you know what i mean" Am i alone here?

I didn't like how the show ended. I mean, Jo's wedding should have been probably a 3 parter. With some very tender moments between the girls. And, I didn't like Rick too much. He just wasn't anything like Jo would have picked. And, I know you are all going to throw things at me, but I didn't care too much for George. I mean, his character was irritating. (that's just my opinion)
As for mapmanmsl. Did you even like the show at all? I too think you are just wanting to argue. Well, I for one am not playing your little game. Jo was and is and always will be my favorite on the show and I don't really care what you thought of her.:p

*throws tomatoes at 1strunfan. TAKE THAT! George rocks!* though on other shows like ER (not Roseanne), he looks a lot older!

Ok, I've read this like 5 times now and it still makes no since. Nancy didn't quit FOL in 1982. Nancy has never said Jo was no good. Many interviews with her have her saying how she enjoyed playing Jo and enjoyed the fact so many girls could relate with Jo, including herself. Your posts bashing Nancy and Jo don't make much sense...so ummm?

Anyway, I hate the show had to end. I hate Mrs. G left. I hate there wasn't more Blair/Jo moments towards the end. I hate that I've only seen "Where's Poppa?" once...

FOL is awesome.

Season 8 was good. Bev was funny. But by the time Season 9 rolled around, the magic was just gone, and they just let that Pippa wander onto the stage. And guess what happens after she arrives? The show get's CANCELLED. If you ask me, they should have let Rites of Passage 1 and 2 be the finale so that Season 9 was never made. I feel that Rites of Passage was a lot better of a finale than The Begining of the Begining. :barf:

Well, Pippa TOTALLY got on my nerves, and the show should have had a better finale. PLUS Jo should have not gotten married to stupid RICK! :barf:

Jo started to calm down after season four, the show wasn't using series issues in their plots anymore by then. They started adding new characters to enhance the show with Kelly which I wasn't very fond of. Andy and George grew into the picture a little later, and then Pippa was added near the end the series, who I didn't really care for.

Beverly Ann had a strong sense of humore, in her first episodes after that, there really wasn't much left. They had afew good episodes during the last three seasons, which was interesting.

They should have ended it after Mrs. Garrett left, the girls were growing older and there wasn't much for the writers to talk about, so it would have been a good idea for the writers to end the series there.

I didn't hate anything about the show, but there was a few things that I didn't like.

For one I didn't like the Additions to the cast. The Princess girl bugged the hell out of me, Kelly was a pretty stupid character to add into so many episodes it would have been fine for one MAYBE two at the most, Pippa was annoying 95% of the time, and above all each of those three characters were definitel unnecessary. Especially the Princess- please.

Andy grew into the picture, George was okay most the time (but for the most part was unnecessary), and Beverly Ann wasn't the worst thing for the show.

So pretty much only the first three characters I named were the ones that I didn't like- and were the things I didn't like about the show.

One bad point I think was having the Mrs. Garrett character on the show. I would have much prefered her to be on Diff'rent Strokes because she seemed more real in that show.

Okay...um..no. Because 1, if Mrs. Garrett hadn't gone to Eastland in the first place, there would have been no Facts of Life...or, Garrett's Girls, as it was originally to be called.
And, 2, Mrs. Garrett would've just been one of those DS housekeepers and not the WONDERFUL Mrs. Garrett we all know anrett character until you see her as a houd love. You don't get the full Mrs. Garsekeeper, AND as a housemother/dietician/confidant.

Hey, Bev had her moments. If they cancelled the show after Mrs. G left, we would have never gotten Seven Little Indians, The Little Chill, or The First Time. They should have ended the show after the 8th season. I would have been perfect to end it there.

I gotta study Africa this semester so I can't let it bother me too much I can despise that class though. Like most of y'all I hated it when Mrs. G left that really sucked they should've kept her on till the end maybe then Jo wouldn't have married a nutcase.

I didn't really like the show at first either. I think I just watched the dry episodes. I caught the Graduation episode during the Fandemonium thing on TVL and I was about to graduate high school pretty soon and that episode kind of got me hooked.

I think the Jo/Nancy/Jinny obsession has died down a bit. We still have a few members that have her in their avatar or sig, but it's not as many as before.

Well, yea I kinda go for the 1989 ending, but they should've had an episode where Mrs.G would come from Africa for a surpise
visit with Beverly Ann,Andy and the Girls as the show's finale.

The bad 80s hair, fashions, music....

For example... why couldn't the girls have sang Back-up for Ozzy, or Kiss instead of Debarge? Ozzy and Kiss have always been up for prostituting their images and making quick cash.... and they wouldn't have made the show seem so... dated.

The only thing that I hated about Facts of Life was the last two episodes. It was all about Blair and Eastland school. The
other cast members weren't really shown.
Excellent show but crappy ending, sorry that's just how I feel! The last episode should have been about all the girls.

2. George
3. Beverly Ann
