I agree. The Rugrats were cool at first, but then when the whole trend started it just spelled the end to the whole thing. I watched the Rugrats when they added Dil. I could handle the whole Dil deal, but then they have another movie and add this Kimi girl. Does this mean with each movie they have someone new is going to come onboard? Who are we gonna see next? Is Angelica gonna get a sister or a brother?

It seems you can't have a plain tv show anymore without a trend starting and screwing it all up.

I've always thought Rugrats was very overrated.

Pokemon

Spongebob. I just don't get the appeal. I found it grating on the nerves.

The Simpsons drives me nuts. I just don't get why it's so popular.

I also hate Spongebob, Powerpuff Girls, Pokemon, Digimon, and Rugrats.

Actually I feel that almost ALL present day toons suck.

Pokemon!!!!!! Ever since that show came out all these other shows tried to copy it for example Digimon. I wish they get rid of those cartoons they are annoying!

Personally, I think "Dexter's Laboratory" or "Powerfuff Girls" are amusing, but they're not as great as everyone says, yet whenever I turn on Cartoon Network, both shows seem to be on...

Actually Digimon was around before Pokemon, Everyone just thinks that Digimon is a ripoff because Pokemon was first to arrive in the U.S.

I think Dragon Ball Z is way overrated. It's really boring too.

Yeah, I know what you mean about "Dragonball Z"...everytime I tune in to this show, it's the same @#*!!in' fight scene!!:mad:

:eek: i'm not a big fan of new cartoons because of their lack of imagination and the hidden messages contained in them. i'm all for a good moral lesson like they do on "Winnie the Pooh" or "Fat Albert" that gets revealed in the end. i DO NOT like this notion that ALL cartoons have to be educational and non-violent. by non-violent i mean "slapstick comedy", not graphic violence like beheadings and ax murdering.
"Pokemon" is over-rated and so are the "Powerpuff Girls", "Dexter's Laboratory", and all of these Japanese cartoons under Cartoon Network's Tunami banner. these cartoons, despite being over-rated, are boring and unfunny. i think over-rated can apply to almost EVERYTHING in life that becomes popular...but i get the sentiment of overhyping something that doesn't deserve it. none of those shows i listed that drive me crazy deserve the praise or attention because it causes a trend. that trend is basically the end of creativity as we know it. i mean, once something is popular it's very easy for the next artist or producer of a cartoon to come along and copy what's popular instead of being creative and offer something alternative. THIS is the result of anything that's over-rated to the extent that it feeds off basic greed and before long there's 20 different versions of the same cartoon...

Yeah, I know what you mean. I mean, I LOVE SCooby Doo, I adore it, I can't go a day without it. I ESPECIALLY Love the new series. (OK, OK, I admit it, I'm PATHETIC) But when it first came out, it was so good and it became so popular that Hanna Barbara saw it as a gold mine and suddenly every single new cartoon they made had mystery formats, everything from Speed Buggy to Butch cassidy. I saw some of them, and they weren't that bad, like Butch Cassidy. But some were such ripoffs. There was Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan, Jabberjaw (which was terrible- sorry Frank), Speed Buggy, the New Shmoo (which I kind of liked, he was CUTE), Hong Kong Phooy, Josie and the Pussycats, Josie in Outer Space, Clue Club, Butch Cassidy, and who knows what else! They couldn't leave a good thing alone, it had to be done to death!!

As to what cartoon irritates me, three words- YU-Gi-OH!!! AAAAAAAGH!!! :eek:

powerpuff girls-its ok. it got really old fast tho

I find it interesting that Rugrats was certainly the most entertaining the first few seasons it was on yet that was when it wasn't known by anyone outside the group that watched Nick. Then years later, after it appeared they weren't going to make anymore, they decide to make a couple specials, movies, and then BAM!! Everyone knows about Rugrats. And the new shows just kept a comin'. Funny how it was only popular when the writing started to stink.

Hey! I like Pokemon :) (Actually, Pokemon is one of my twenty favorite shows of all time--and one of my top 10 cartoons)

Anyway, the cartoons I hate are:
South Park - hope the PTC kills this show :)
King of the Hill - dull
Family Guy - too crude
Spongebob - not funny
Courage - alot of screaming doesn't equal laughs
Dragonball Z - BOOOOOORING!!!
Kids Next Door - Dull.
Yu-Gi-Oh - Not funny.
Any other Nick toons (except for Jimmy Neutron) - Not really funny.
