John Candy was funny in the 80's, it's unfortunate he died early. My favorite John movies were Planes Trains & Automobiles with Steve Martin, Uncle Buck, The Great Outdoors, Home Alone. I never saw Summer Rental but i wanted to. Is Volunteers any good with him & Tom Hanks? What other movies has he been in?

Where was John born? Is he from Chicago? He used to play in a lot of movies that were filmed in Chicago. Have u seen Volunteers with him & Tom Hanks? I still haven't seen Stripes. That movie is old as dirt, i'm gonna have to rent it one day. I like Bill Murray. Harold Ramis was in that too wasn't he?

Volunteers was ok, I saw it in the theater and was kindof dissapointed.
It features Hanks's future wife, Rita Wilson.
Also, John C. Kim, who played Long Duck Dong in Sixteen Candles, was in it as well.

No, John was actually born in Canada. He was a part of the Second City comedy team that originated in Chicago.

Yes its sad he passed.....
I love
Whos Harry Crumb? - 1989
Nothing but Trouble - 1991
Vacation - 1983
Home Alone - 1990
Uncle Buck - 1989
They ruined this movie to hell on the official tape and when TV stations aired it (Uncle Buck) ...... It was digitally processed crap that to me looked and sounded horrible.....
I finally got a copy recorded from analogue cable (PAY PER VIEW) and its absolutely goregous.... The original analogue print!!!

What Really Happened To John Candy?
John Candy wasnt just funny. He was essential.
From Second City to Hollywood superstardom, Candy became one of the most beloved performers of the 1980s and early 90s a comic actor who brought warmth, vulnerability, and decency to every role. But behind the laughs was a man who worked relentlessly, carried enormous pressure, and gave far more of himself than most people realised.
In this video, we trace John Candys early days, his explosive run of classic films, his quieter dramatic turns, his passion for sports, and the heavy burden he carried right up until his untimely death in 1994.
This isnt just a highlight reel. Its the full story of why John Candy mattered and still does.

No, John Candy was only 43 years old when he died. He would've turned 44 years old on October 31st of that year.
