Despite its ugly lower bar on its network, I want you all to email oxygen so that they can aquire Roseanne. They are affiliated with Carsey/Werner, they show woman dominant shows, and best of all, their network allows words like whore, which is edited out on TBS, and they don't have to worry about time limits. They show Ab Fab in its entirety, 45 minutes. Please help get them to aquire the rights to air the ORIGINAL, UNCUT, UNEDITED, versions. I can't stand that Nick-at-nite aquired it. They will butcher the crap out of it. I have them all from TBS and I know that they edit out a lot.

Oxygen has acquired Roseanne, they will start it sometime in mid to late 2003 and will air in the daytime, while Nick@Nite airs it at nights starting Fall 2003.

Roseanne will be great on N@N, but will they like TC, skip the controversal ones? There have been like 20 or 30 controversal Roseanne episodes with topics such as abortion, drugs, sex, or homosexuality. N@N made a big deal over an episode about marijunia...

It will be interesting to see what Nick @ Nite does. No doubt they'll skip some episodes. And probably heavily editing. See, that's why it makes no sense for it to go to Nick @ Nite. I could care less that it is, even though I like the show, but I just think Nick at Nite isn't the right place for it, because, let's face it, Nick @ Nite, like I said, will probably skip episodes and heavily edit them. But, I guess we'll see soon enough. They have gotten more relaxed in their "rules." I mean, look at All in the Family, that has a ton of controversial episodes, and I've seen many (if not all) of them on Nick at Nite. And episode 124 of Three's Company (is this controversial, I don't remember off hand?) will air for the first time in February on N@N. So, we'll just have to see how Nick at Nite handles Roseanne.

Nick@Nite has only skipped two episodes of Three's Company and they have aired on TNN and Nick@Nite will air those two in 2003. The show Nick@Nite skipped a lot of episodes for controversy was The Facts of Life.

As for Roseanne, it's still a while away, so we will have to wait and see. Nick@Nite is more lenient now, I see them airing Roseanne after 10 or 11 p.m. anyway, so I don't think much will be skipped.

All I can say is that Oxygen better not sacrifice a wholesome, funny show like Kate & Allie for this! It's not that I don't like Roseanne, but some episodes are just so trashy I can't stand to watch...

Hey - it's just my opinion! I do like Roseanne. It's not my favorite show, but I do enjoy it ocassionaly. But the fact is, someone would be lying if they said there weren't a few raunchy moments in the series...

I think you are mistakin "trashy" for "real." I have every episode taped and have seen them all many times and the only thing I see is reality. I just think that if you are a middle class family like mine, you will notice that they are the perfect portrayal, of a middle class family, not a "trashy" one. Just my thoughts.

I can definitely see N@N skipping these episodes

1.DJ discovers masturbation
2.Roseanne, Dan, and Jackie smoke pot
3.Halloween episodes from seasons 3,5,6,7 and 8
4.Roseanne's lesbian kiss
5.When Dan's mom tries to kill him
6.Bev comes out of the closet
7.Leon's gay wedding

And many more, but those just stick out in my mind as too risque for Nick.

I think it is sick for Nick-at-Nite to delete those episodes from their airings, which I know they probably will. Gay people are part of the world, and masterbation is a part of growing up. The lesbian kiss was important and if they skip that one, they can't air Leon's Gay wedding, because of the surprise ending, which you know what I am talking about if you have seen it. The Halloween episodes are some of the best and there's no doubt that NAN will take out the one where Roseanne is dressed like a man and enters in the bathroom. What is so wrong with that? I don't see anything so controversial about it. TBS edits it out of the original episode but leaves it in during the 1 hour clip show, makes absolutely no sense. I think it is a very "woman power over men" episode, which I don't even care about, even if I am a guy. I thought it was a great role reversal. Maybe NAN will wake up and play them, or hopefully Oxygen will air them and UNEDITED. I mean they allow the word "*****" so I am sure they won't edit out anything.

OK, it's fine for you guys to think that this show is real, everyone's entitled to their opinion. But, when I turn on a sitcom, personally I don't want to be bombarded with the problems of everyday life. Sitcoms are supposed to be a funny, unrealistic play on life in general, and this show is definitely not that. But, you all have to realise that I DO NOT hate this show and get pleasure out of bashing it and it's fans (which I am not trying to do anyway) when I say stuff like this. The truth is, I have seen nearly every episode of this show (I watched it religously, every night on TBS during my middle school years), and while it isn't my absolute favorite, I DO like it. It's just that my tastes have changed and I don't find it as amusing as I did before...and like someone said that Kate & Allie is unrealistic. Well, I don't agree with that totally. I mean, the whole situation of it, with the 2 divorcees living together probably doesn't happen to often, but other than that, it is a pretty realistic show. It's not like their gigglin' & jigglin' and acting airheady - it's just a genuinely funny & enoyable show...you should watch it sometime...well, to each their own...

Roseanne must be getting paid, with all this syndication.

TBS
NICK
Oxygen
And I heard Lifetime may pick it up also.
And two local networks air it here in Cali.

TBS will stop airing it when Nick@Nite and Oxygen get it in Fall 2003. Lifetime is NOT picking it up. Yes, Roseanne is in local syndication as well, here in NY on WWOR.
