View Full Version : What's up with this?
chicosladyfair 07-20-2001, 03:41 PM It would seem over the past few weeks that some things were said and some people might have had their feelings hurt. First of all, I want to apologize to anyone I may have offended, hurt, angered, or pissed off. I thought the whole idea of these message boards was to voice an open and honest opinoin on all matters.
This might be viewed as beating a dead horse but since threads have been closed and posts deleted I wanted to go back to the incident with T.J. He started a topic on something that he felt strongly about and then asked for feedback. I certainly don't want anybody thinking that I just went ahead and posted my views without KNOWING ALL THE FACTS! I corresponded with T.J. before ever posting anything. But even if I hadn't...it still doesn't make it right to take something from one site without giving credit to the one you got it from. It doesn't matter if you got it from a site that originated in Europe, if it came from T.J.'s site originally, then that's where the credit's due. Some might say this was none of my business to begin with and I couldn't agree more...but someone asked for opinoins and I gave mine. I am very sorry if that was seen as being mean spirited. I have nothing against anybody here but if I have an opinion about something, I am not going to swallow it and be afraid of stepping on somebody's toes. I do make well informed posts and do not wish to make any enemies here. Thank you for this opportunity.
Vicki39 07-21-2001, 11:57 AM Chicosladyfair, this is a little off topic from your post, but I liked it when you said you were going to say whatever you had to say, and hopefully it is not going to step on anyone's toes. If it does, get over it!! I respect you for that.
I do not post a lot. I think I may read more. I think what I am about to say is especially heavy on my mind because of the "E" Network airing their show on Freddie tonite. I hope that all of our message boards were created for the memory of Freddie Prinze. I really get upset when I see (not just on this board but others as well) people trashing Kathy Prinze, Carol Novak, James Komack, etc, etc. Now before any one wants to jump down my throat--I know this is a free country and I do believe in freedom of speech.
But let me say this, I did not know Kathy, Carol, or James. I probably never will know them either. Whatever they did or did not do for Freddie is something that they will all deal with. And another thing, what if Freddie Jr got on here and read some of the stuff that has been said about his mother. Whether it is true or false--it's history.
Vicki39 07-21-2001, 12:12 PM If I offended anyone--sorry, but I have been really embarrased by some of the stuff I have read.
We all make choices in life. Some good and some bad. Freddie for some reason chose to do drugs. I don't think anyone made him take them. He did them before he was famous. Fame and money just bought better and more dangerous drugs thats all. Yes, Freddie needed help and yes he,in his own way, was probably crying and acting out for it. No, tragically, he did not get it--for whatever the reason. When I watch the "E" show tonite, I am going to dwell on everything positive about Freddie, and I encourage all of you to do the same.
wheeeone 07-21-2001, 01:29 PM I agree completely Vicki. You said everything that has been in my heart when I read some of the negative posts, yet, everyone should be able to post without fear of being ostracized. Life is full of variety and differing opinions...it keeps it interesting. It may be frustrating at times but we are adults and have the ability to allow everyone their own individual opinions.
I will focus on the positive aspects of Freddie's life and career and contribution and let any negativity fall where it may....away from Freddie. He had enough of it while he was still here.......
Vicki39 07-21-2001, 02:21 PM Thanks Wheeeone. And, please let me say to you I have enjoyed all of your posts on Freddie as well as your pictures. I am sure you know how lucky you are to have run across a Freddie Prinze in your life time. I would have loved to have met him. God Bless you!!! Posts like yours are what this message board is all about!! Or, at least it should be...
Cheryl Harrell 07-21-2001, 04:56 PM Ya'll are right... I admit I think Kathy & them should've done more for him & it's upsetting to me sometimes. However when I say stuff like that I try to do it nicely cuz I don't want to offend them or anyone else. If I say it, it's because it's what I've observed. It's just sad how it all happened. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif So I try when I say stuff to say it nicely so I don't offend. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif Wheeeone is lucky to have known the real Freddie! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
When I watch the E-Story I try to stay positive but in the end when he dies & they show the funeral it just gets to me. It's so sad... Since we can't get E due to not having the paid satellite channels due to not being able to find a descrambler for our satellite dish (A big dish) I'll be watching my tape of it tonite. It's a real bawler & you'll be breaking out the hankys. But it's nice to see him on tv even if it is sad...

Vicki39 07-21-2001, 05:17 PM No, sorry ladies, no hankies for me. I will watch Freddie tonite and smile because Freddie Prinze always made and MAKES me smile.
chicosladyfair 07-22-2001, 01:29 AM Thank you Vickie and Wheeeone,
I am guilty of spouting off about Kathy in the past as I feel that she jumped ship as far as Freddie was concerned, but I have always tried to keep one thing in mind...she deserves my respect for the simple fact that Freddie loved her...and she is the mother of his child. I didn't walk in her shoes. I'm sure Freddie was NOT an easy person to live with and I can't honestly say that I wouldn't have done what she did. Even though I feel she went about things the wrong way, she had her reasons for leaving Freddie...just as he had his reasons for the decisions he made.
As for the original reason for this thread...I would have more respect for someone who disagreed with me and voiced an opinion as to why than for someone who went along with what I said just to keep peace. We are all unique and special individuals in our own right and that's pretty KOOL when you sit down and think about it. It adds flavor and spice...and let's face it...Freddie is one spicy kind of guy and that's why we're all here.
Cheryl Harrell 07-22-2001, 03:49 AM It's interesting reading all the different opinions on here. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif I do cringe when I see aruging going on on message boards cuz on my friend Arlos message boards some bad arguing happened on there & some of the folks on there chased away off of the site some good folks I really liked who were good friends of his. The ones left of the site hate the ones they chased off & know I like the ones they chased off & don't like it too well that I like the folks they don't like. The folks who got chased off the site now have their own message boards on Arlo & I hang out on there too. I've been given a hard time over it before. It was a sad situation & sadly not even Arlo could stop it. So therefore I cringe at arguing on message boards. I am pleased at how well you all have handled any disagreements on here! Kudo's to you all for handling things so well!
I had to watch the E Story on tape since we don't have paid satellite dish channels. Didn't get to watch it at 9 pm & had to watch it later. First I watched todays CATM on tape since we can't get TVLAND right now due to the trees blocking the signal from the satellit they are on... I had my hubby watch it with me. That was fun. Then he went to bed & I watched the E- True Hollywood Story. He didn't want to see it again cuz he saw it once & thought it was too negative.
I tried not to get sad watching it but it got to me anyway. I went all to pieces when he died & they showed the funeral. It was sooooo sad, I went thru 2 hankys... It upset me so bad that after it was over I went into the bedroom where my hubby was crying to him & got in the bed with him & asked him to hold me a few minutes. He told me it happened many yrs ago & there was nothing I could do to have stopped it since I didn't know him. But still I got so upset sad over it. I know I shouldn't be this way but seeing his death & the funeral was sooo sad.
What did strike me as odd is why Kathy would leave him when she said on the program about how he was a good husband & latin lover & loved the baby. He was too cute to leave. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif I guess only she knows why... I don't agree with how things were done but yet I respect the fact he loved her & she is Jr's mom. I think she would be interesting to meet & her tell more about Freddie. I told my hubby earlier, it would've been nice if they hadn't divorced & he had still been alive. We could've been friends with them & done nice things with them like go out to eat. We ate out Mexican Sat which is yesterday by now est time & I told my hubby it was too bad Freddie couldn't be with us to go eat out Mexican. I wore one of my Freddie shirts in honor of the E-Story being shown & cuz we were eating Mexican. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
Sorry I was such a downer in sharing how sad I got watching the E-True Hollywood Story but it was soo sad... http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif I better stop writing on this topic before I start needing another hanky... I love these boards & enjoy being on here with ya'll. It's fun learning about Freddie & he lives on in all our hearts. Our Latin Prinze! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
Pitooey 07-22-2001, 09:19 AM I saw the E special yesterday and now that I've gotten older I looked at Freddie and I was thinking (He looked so young)! He looked like a baby. The only adult thing he had was his moustache but, shave it off and he's a baby. Sniff....... http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/crying.gif
Jennylee22,
Besides a baby pic of Freddie in his mom's book, are there any pictures of Freddie without a moustache?
I sure would be curious to see one, although i know it wouldn't be the same
Cheryl Harrell 07-23-2001, 05:10 AM I have one! I think I posted it on here. I plan to put it on my site. He looks so young & baby face without his moustache & not as Hispanic either... He's still cute tho... http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
chicosladyfair 07-23-2001, 01:06 PM I've seen that picture. He's so cute. It's the one of him standing at the microphone, right? That's such a cute pic. He's got such a baby face....YUMMY! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/love.gif
