I was introduced to cable 14 years ago and have enjoyed it ever since that day. I watch cable all the time and barely watch regular channels. Is there anyone else besides me who cannot live without cable?

With all the garbage that's on the regular broadcast channels, I can't imagine life without cable. I actually find myself watching TV less and less these days.

I can barely live without my cable. I stayed with my aunt and cousins for like 2 weeks and they didn't have cable or even regular channels. I had to watch the same movies of theirs over and over, because all they had was a VCR. I thought I was going to die. LOL

Cable Channels are great....how else would we be able to see classic sitcoms?

Life would be a lot better without tv. Maybe America would go out more instead of rotting on the couch all day.

I remember when I was a kid, we didn't even have cable.

Cable didn't reach my home until my early teens.

And, the "remote control" was this box with a cord that went to the TV.

Then the dinosaurs died off when the ice age arrived...

No, I've had cable for years. It's just with all that garbage that airs these days, there's never anything good on. Not even the so called 'Classic Channels' air anything worthwhile.

I agree. I find reality shows hilarious in a way. My reality sucks so that's why I watch sitcoms. Why would I want to watch a reality show if my reality sucks as it is? Seriously, I don't need to watch a show to see back stabbing. I've had that in my own life.

I absolutely CANNOT live without cable!

I lived without cable till I was 14.

I couldn't live without cable. I think I watch CMT most of the day. hahaaha I love CMT but I HATE Katie Cook. I was telling everyone last night that Im gonna kill the HO. She annoys me SOOOO much. :mad:
But anyway CMT rocks :rock:

God, that's the point of watching tv to escape reality.

Back in the 70's, we didn't have cable. We didn't need it, I had all the channels I wanted. It wasn't until MTV came out that I became addicted to cable. Since we got digital cable, I really can't live without it. I can usually find something to watch.

I know what you mean. In the late '70s, not only was there no cable, but I was using a black-and-white set. I still remember watching "The Dukes Of Hazzard" in black-and-white. My TV had no remote control at all- I would get up and lower the volume during the commercials and get up and raise it again when the show came back on. Although there was no cable, many local stations (KTLA- ch. 5, KTTV ch. 11, etc) ran reruns of "Gilligan's Island," "Happy Days," "Get Smart," and many others. We got our cable installed in early 1985.

I agree. The dude that hosted Most Wanted Live annoyed me too. I guess they realized that he sucked and that's why they have Cledus on there now. Cledus is a helluva lot better than that other guy. That Tamara girl gets on my nerves too. They should've stuck with playing straight music and screw having the hosts and the deejays and all that crap.

I could not live without cable TV. There is nothing to do here during the summer. It's too hot here to go outside and play, and swimming gets boring after the first million times. I've had to go without cable for two weeks within the last three years and it was torture. Watching my Three's Company tapes over and over and over again got boring, which I thought would never happen. :(

Well as long as i have a powerful meal I can always watch a episode of Three's Company. Cable does suck in the summer. I would say it's easier to live without cable from June to August because it's no sports, and it all reruns.

I went crazy when I have live without MTV for 7 months! :eek:

I can't miss The Real World, The Osbournes, or music videos.

When I'm looking for something to do, I usually turn towards the TV, so without it, it wouldn't be the same, it would probably take they entertainment out of my day. Without cable, I would most likely rely on the Computer, without one or the other I wouldn't have any source of enjoyment.

I've tried to live without the TV for a week, and it never seems to work, LOL.

I have had cable TV for as long as I have lived. I am pretty much dependent on it. Therefore, I would not live without cable.

Me without cable is like salt without pepper (or Peppa, depending on your interest). Its just not right! All I really need though is TVLAND, N@N, E!, and MTV.

I was in fourth grade (I think) when we first got cable. Remember the cable box with the push buttons? Replaced by the ultra modern sliding channel box? I have a dish now and couldn't even imagine going back to cable let alone regular TV(I had digital cable years ago which was better than regular cable).

I agree with you up to a point. I find most reality TV shows to be tedious and pointless but some are pretty good. For example, you should've gotten yourself over to the UK in August/September - you could've seen 'I'm a Celebrity.....Get Me Out of Here' which was arguably the best reailty TV show ever!!!! It was so popular with the Britsish viewers that ITV are now considering adapting it for the American market. This years 'Celebrity Big Brother' which ended 2 weeks ago, was also great veiwing.
Getting back on topic - there is no way I could survive without digital satalite TV. I have over 400 channels and, even though I only watch a fraction of them, I couldn't live without it. I have no life so TV is all I have.....
