I need some support from the Freddie-brigade tonight. We found out today that my husband Shawn's father suffered a stroke this morning. His motor functions seem to be fine but his speech and his memory have been affected. When my husband went to see him today he couldn't remember who his own son was. It's sad to think that 75 years of living may be gone from his memory...his wife who passed away three years ago, his six children, and all his grandchildren.
I truly believe in the power of prayer and you all have been such wonderful friends to me these past months. Please say a prayer for him. Thank you all. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif

Best wishes! Just said a prayer... My dad had a stroke some yrs back & is still alive & doing okay at the age of 80 something. Still has heart problems, & blood problems & problems with his legs & they say he goes in & out of having diabetes but he had all his motor skills & didn't lost his memory. He probably gets around better than I do. So hopefully your hubby's father will get better too! Peace!

The power of prayer is amazing and I will include your father-in-law and your family in my daily petitions. The power to change what we see is within all of us and I will pray that your family's inner power will somehow shine through this trial to bring about restoration and joy to your father-in-law. Sending lots of love your way, chicosladyfair....

I will be praying for your father-in-law and your entire family. I know that prayer works. I hope that he will have a full recovery. Our Lord is the Great Physician.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I know what your husband is going through.

About five years (it will be Dec. of this year) My fathered suffered a stroke on his right side. It was a hemorrhagic stroke.
His speech was affected slightly but he lost most of the use of his right side. He's still alive today, he's 75 and gets around pretty well. He does use a cane when he goes out somewhere. It's scary isn't it. I was there when it happened.

Anyway, I'll keep you all in my prayers and thoughts and please email me if you need to vent.

Luvinjuan/Kate

Thank you all for your prayers and support. My husband's father is home now from the hospital. He is doing much better except for his memory. He forgets things that were said 5 minutes before. But at least he knows who we all are...he just can't remember our names. The doctors have told him no driving. This is going to be a challenge for an independant man. But he's strong and stubborn just like my husband so I have every faith that he will be fine. Thank you again for all the well-wishes...the power of prayer works miracles. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
