What do you think about Pete Rose's suspension from baseball? Do you think he's learned his lesson and should be reinstated or should he continue to be banned for betting on baseball games?

View Full Version : Pete Rose: reinstate or keep him banned? Brian Damage 12-13-2002, 02:38 PM What do you think about Pete Rose's suspension from baseball? Do you think he's learned his lesson and should be reinstated or should he continue to be banned for betting on baseball games? JDS84 12-13-2002, 07:06 PM I think he should be reinstated. Mr. Shy Guy 12-13-2002, 11:05 PM I think he should be reinstated only after he admits he betted on baeball. Brian 12-14-2002, 12:15 AM I believe he should be reinstated, as long as he doesn't work for baseball again. ks 12-14-2002, 01:02 PM Reinstate the guy. He was a great player and probably isn't the only one to bet on the game, just the only one to get busted for doing so. ks bandito 12-14-2002, 10:39 PM i think he should be reinstated i think he has been punished enough. give the guy his glory. UpstairsSteak 12-15-2002, 11:46 AM I think he should be reinstated only after admitting to betting on baseball. Everyone knows he bet on baseball, if he doesn't want to admit betting against the Reds that's fine with me, just admit the rest. He should be in the Hall of Fame but the mess he created is keeping him out - it's time for him to make things right. blackbeard 12-15-2002, 08:44 PM He has to come clean as Mr. Clean. I don't think any team should be allowed to hire him as a coach or manager. Maybe only in the minors so he can teach young ballplayers. Kitt 12-16-2002, 06:46 PM Major League Baseball looks more and more foolish with every passing year that they don't reinstate Rose and allow him to be voted intoThe Hall of Fame. It'll happen some day and this has been a terrible waste of time. Rose still doesn't admit to gambling on baseball. I don't know if he's telling the truth or not. But in all the years that Bud Selig has been the Commissioner of Baseball, Rose has never even been able to get a meeting with him. That's chicken dung. I'm not worried about what role, if any, Rose would have as a coach or some sort of representative for baseball. The guy was one of THE greatest who ever played the game and he had a tremendous work-ethic. So, Inspite of whatever shortcomings he might have had or has he was and is one heck of an inspiration. Sure if he gambled on the game it was wrong and he should admit it, but even if he doesnt its crazy that the man is not in the Hall of Fame. His gambling has absolutely nothing to do with what he accomplished on the diamond. His biggest opponents say "He violated the integrity of the game". Dont statement doesnt Geehaw with me. Look at Darryl Strawberry hes snorted everything but the foul line chalk and they keep letting him come back. Think about this too. What if its found out that Barry Bonds and so many others have used steroids to enhance their play is that not violating the "integrity" of the game? I think we should ban all of the steroid users too. Just as that statement is ridiculous so is leaving "Charlie Hustle" out of the Hall of Fame! |
