When I was watching E true hollywood I noticed Kathy still goes by Prinze.
In her son's bio by Victoria ? Freddie says his mom was married to a guy named Quick after Freddie.
If she married again, and if life with Freddie was so tough(drugs and all) why did Kathy keep his name?
Why didn't she keep the Quick name or go back to one of the other two names from her previous marriages or better yet,use her maiden name.
I might be in the wrong here but i think,especially since she remarried again,that keeping the Prinze name is tacky.

I agree with you Joy, I think keeping the Prinze name would have been tacky. But I think she used the Prinze name on the E! story for dramatic purposes. But I could be wrong. I can't remember where I heard this but I think she remarried after Freddie to a man who died of cancer about 6 years into the marriage. I don't know if she has been married since, but she doesn't seem like the type to stay single for long.

That's for sure! & Another thing that bothered me besides using his dear sainted name was... She was being refferedd to as his widow. Hello-- they divorced...

Weren't they still married when he passed? I believe he was still married to her....

apparently Freddie was just served the papers the day of or before the shooting so yes they were married.

I do believe they were still in the process of getting divorced. So, by all accounts, she has the right to keep the Prinze name. But it's still a tacky thing to do in the event that they were getting divorced.

But why,if Freddie jr said she got remarried after Freddie died?I think she should have kept the new name,Which was Quick.
Jr contemplated changing his name to Jimmy(his middle name)quick his mom's next hubby

You said it, catcopy! The one problem with that was she didn't know what she had with Freddie. I understand about the drugs and all, especially with a baby, but geez louise, you just don't drop out of someone's life because they have a problem. If Freddie had cancer or some other drastic problem would she have left? Drug abuse is cureable.

Yeah Cheryl...I think we all have Kathy pegged. Someone made the comment awhile back to me about wondering if Kathy read these boards and what she thought about what we were saying about her. Well, maybe if she commented on some of this stuff and set the record straight then we wouldn't have to be speculating on this matter or that matter. I wished she would come here and tell us her side of things...it would clear the air and maybe we would all walk away with a better understanding of Freddie and more respect for her.

I'd like to know why Kathy never told her side of things anyway. It's odd for someone not to comment on much the way she does.

I would DEFINITELY want to clear my name if those things were not true about me. It would be so interesting for her to get on here and talk to us. KATHY -- WE ARE ALL EARS. WHERE ARE YOU MRS. PRINZE??? Anyway, I think we all need to remember that Freddie Sr loved her and she is the mother of Freddie Jr. And I will respect her on both accounts....

He loved Kathy yes, but let's not forget he never had the opportunity to meet any of us here who I may add would have loved him for Freddie Prinze or Freddie Pruetzel.
I've been through a lot physically in and emotionally in my life and I thank God for all the friends and family who have helped me through and didn't dump me. As i believe (from what I've gotten to know of all fo you)that like me,you wouldn't have deserted Freddie either.

Freddie still referred to Kathy as a mistake. From what I've read, they had other problems besides the drugs, they didn't have much in common, etc. Anyway, Freddie did leave her out of his will. I also read that he did accept the divorce. I think if he had the chance, he would have gotten on with his life after the divorce and found someone else.

I agree, too. But I also feel like you do Vicky...I respect her for the fact that Freddie loved her and she is Freddie Jr.'s mother. But through it all I think that Freddie's decision to place the gun to his head was a direct result of her leaving with Freddie Jr. There were so many difficult things going on in Freddie's life at that time and I'm sure all those influences played a part in it...BUT she was probably the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.
I would also like to extend the invitation to Kathy to please tell us her side of things. I'm sure she would be met with repect if she were to visit.

I have a wonderful idea for a book. I think some ex-wifes of hollywood celebs should get together and write a book on their hubbies. The good and bad times. I am quite sure Kathy would be good for a few chapters. And, I also, would meet her with all due respect. I am not her judge. I was not there. I did not walk in her shoes. But, I certainly would love to listen to all she could say.

I think a book like that is an inspired idea,you know it could be that in an interview type situation, it's difficult for Kathy to form her thoughts without sounding offensive to Freddie fans,a book would maybe be a perfect outletfor her to tell her side . I'm sure it would be a great read.I know I'd buy it.

I'm sorry, but I would have called the doctor (or 911) and made him see for himself what kind of state Freddie was in at the time, whether he liked it or not. It would have been for his own good. There's always a way to help if you look for it. I'll say it again, these people were all afraid of upsetting the apple cart and it cost them a loved one in the end!
