Eddie Haskell 12-13-2002, 09:58 AM Everytime I go to record Robbery Homicide Division, it's not on at the time that the TV Guide shows so I wind up recording some lame ass show that I have no desire to watch. After three attempts I have given up and don't care whether the show stays on the air or not. I'M ANGRY I TELL YA'... Not true, it's canceled. MDs has been canceled now as well. I don't think Presido Med will do well when it returns in January. Brian Damage 12-13-2002, 02:17 PM Was Family Affair and Do Over cancelled as well? Off Centre I totally forgot about because it was like one of the first cancelled this season. Pavan 12-13-2002, 07:42 PM Originally posted by briandamage Sabrina was cancelled? I didn't know that. Brian Damage 12-13-2002, 08:02 PM Thanks pavanbadal, that's why you're the man! :) Penny Lane 12-13-2002, 08:10 PM I don't really know or care! Sorry, your right. I didn't check on that before I said it, I can't remember everything ;) Well, here is the info on that: "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," which entered the season with just a 13 episode commmitment, went on to receive an additional six episode order on November 10. The WB has extended that even further, ordering another three episodes of the comedy, bringing its season total to 22 episodes. DarkBouchard 12-13-2002, 10:38 PM Trust me, it's easy to miss information about 'Sabrina'... haha! It's like, 1 of the the least watched shows on television. It's the WB's fault for revamping and RUINING the show. I bet that 'Grounded For Life' will replace it next season... MagicDust1488 12-13-2002, 10:53 PM You're right, Sabrina is not cancelled yet. By next year it might be cancelled. I watched one episode of Sabrina and I didn't like it at all! What a horrible show it is! I think it got picked up for a full season. I'm not 100% sure about it though. I thought the new TZ sucked. I watched 2 or 3 episodes of it and I stopped watching it all together after that. This is the second time it was attempted (the first was in the early-to-mid 80's) with disastrous results. I haven't seen this newest edition because the previews, not to mention the choice for host, did NOT look promising. I heard the critics/press panned the show, saying the only thing about it that would attract viewers is the big-named guest stars. I heard the critics/press panned the show, saying the only thing about it that would attract viewers is the big-named guest stars. I can tell this is going to be a long post. You've been warned. ;) As I said before, I watched the first few episodes of this new TZ and I was very disappointed with each and every episode that I watched. I admit the first part of episode one did show promise. Then I saw the ending. I can't tell you how disgusted I was with that ending. Oh god, I could on and on about how much I HATED that ending. Okay, some shows start off shaky during the first episode so I caught the next episode. It was still disappointing. I gave it one more chance and I gave up on it entirely. I recorded an episode of the 80s TZ last year. You know how TNT shows it at 4 or 5 in the morning during some days. I recorded an episode and I wasn't really fond of the episode. I caught another 80s TZ about a month or two ago. It was about a guy going into this restaurant and the fortune cookies he gets are predicting his life for him. I kind of get the idea they were taking off on the original TZ's episode "Nick of Time". William Shatner's character is obsessed with the fortune telling napkin holder and the guy in the 80s TZ was obsessed with the fortune telling fortune cookies. The episode was interesting. If you gave me the choice of watching that episode or Nick of Time, I'd rather watch Nick of Time. To make a long story short, if you compare the 3 TZ's together, the 50s TZ will come out first. If you were comparing the 80s TZ and the 2002 TZ, I'd say the 80s version was a helluva lot better. Brian Damage 12-16-2002, 06:29 PM Just out of curiosity, does this new version of the Twilight Zone recreate old episodes or do they manufacture new ones? DarleneIllyria 12-16-2002, 09:36 PM Originally posted by briandamage Just out of curiosity, does this new version of the Twilight Zone recreate old episodes or do they manufacture new ones? You gotta remember that I haven't seen every episode of the new TZ, but I don't think they recreated any of the old episodes. They kind of toss a bone out to the old TZ fans because I think in the first episode/first story of the new TZ had a street called 'Maple Street'. The old TZ fans know that a Maple Street did exist on the old series. The episode of the old TZ involving Maple Street was called 'The Monsters are Due on Maple Street'. Again, I'm not 100% sure that they didn't recreate any of the old episodes but I don't think they did. Often, I have to go with my instincts and sometimes that means missing some good shows. Most of the time, however, I don't miss a thing, as is the case here. "Because life's too short to watch crap!" -- Adam West P.S. - Just so there's no misunderstanding, when I said, "I wish people...," I was referring to the creators, producers, writers, etc., NOT viewers in general or you in particular. Pavan 12-17-2002, 05:36 PM Originally posted by WingsFan I hear we can add Dinotopia to the list of cancelled shows. Did that one even air more than once? So far it has aired four times, two more times left. Flash72 12-17-2002, 06:33 PM I am writing in regard to the topic of the various incarnations of "Twilight Zone." While, like the rest of the tz fans, prefer the 1959-64 series, I do like the other versions. I disagree that the 80's tv met with "disastrous" results, on the contrary, some think there were episodes of that series that were on par with the classic version. Granted, the 80's version had more misses than hits, but "Supertrain" it was not. Also, I still watch and record the newest tz, and my only complaint with the UPN show is that they are emphasizing too much on the sex factor. I am wondering when will tv execs realize that oogling naked people does not a ratings increase make. The classic version "never" showed nudity or gratuitous sex scenes and is still the fondly remembered show that it is today. I can only imagine what "Eye of the Beholder" would look like, if it were made today. I am sure poor Donna Douglas would be shown with everything uncovered but her face. And in "Time Enough at Last" Burgess Meredith's character would be reading stacks of "Playboy" magazine. Hopefully the sex will be toned down (yeah and the news will stop over J Loing), but for those that tuned in briefly in the beginning and quickly tuned back out, let me advise you to give the show another chance. I have actually enjoyed many of the stories and even some gave me that old "tzish" feeling. One, involving a lady traveling back in time, dealt with her finding the infant Adolph Hitler and having the chance to change history. ¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 12-18-2002, 02:28 AM Originally posted by WingsFan I hear we can add Dinotopia to the list of cancelled shows. I might be more inclined to watch the new series if the "Twilight Zone" name wasn't used in order to ensnare a built-in auduence and cash-in on someone else's achievements. :typing: Oh, and the "if I could go back in time and kill Hitler" story is so overused that it's trite.
