I watched WBK on TV LAND and the main thing that bothered me were the scenes in Mr. Kotter APT. I found myself losing interest because I was more interested in the Sweathoggs not MR. Kotter's personal life. And on op of it, Mr. Kotter would tell those stupid jokes that were not funny at all. I know for a fact the women who played his wife really had to put on a good act to laugh at those stupid jokes. But I just feel there were too many scenes at Mr, kotter apt. Even when the sweathoggs were at the apt, i still didn't like it. I only liked the sweathoggs in the classroom.

it would have been okay if they did it once every 3 episodes. I just felt we as the viewing audience didn't need to see the teacher at his home. The focus of the show was Kotter returning back to his old school, not sittin in his apt telling jokes.

I thought it was used to often during the course of the run, it seemed obvious that they would be at the apartment telling jokes. I thought if they were to tell the jokes, I think the punchlines could envolve the sweathogs, or otherwise it had no purpose.

Marcia Strassman, who thought she had very few lines in the show and wanted to be more part of the show so she tried to leave the show because she was tired of hearing the jokes at the beginning of each opening, and couldn't stand them any longer, so I believe in the last episode she wasn't there to laugh at the jokes. So I heard they had used a replacement/dummy who was used to sit and laugh at Kotter's jokes.

She should have realized that her character was not important at all in WBK. Who really wanted to see her when they watched WBK? i think everyone wanted to see Kotter and the sweathoggs.

I kind of agree. She just should've been happy that she had a job. This show strength was Kotter's interaction with the Sweathogs.IMO

I would have preferred less Julie and the twins, but that's just me :)

Kotter had so many scenes without his students as Kaplan was the star of the show originally and actually a standup comedian rather than an actor. And while I have no plans to make a clone of Marcia Strassman (as I do with Hayley Mills) I can't believe all the bad stuff I'm hearing about her here. Like Hayley Marcia too was a very nice looking lady and talented actress to boot.

I'm not bothered at all by the scenes of Gabe in his apartment, & think his jokes are cute :-). Of course the show is based around Buchanan High, Mr. Kotter, & the Sweathogs, but i've always enjoyed the domestic scenes as well. It balanced things out. Also, i loved the character, Judy! She was a great supporting player, & portrayed her part well. Debralee Scott, too, has always been one of my fave 70's actresses, as well. She was great in MHMH, & Angie, as well. The entire castof WBK were brilliant. Thank goodness that TV Land had the good sense to pick up the series again. WBK is a true classic & i watch it over & over again :-).
