Well, let's consider this...
Chuck is in college when Richie's a junior, so he must be 2-3 yrs older than him and Joanie is 2 yrs younger than Richie. Now, on Marion's 25th anniversary, Joanie was 17...making Richie 19 and Chuck (even though he was in Mongolia) 21. So say Marion got married at 20, she had Chuck when she was 24. For her tenth anniversary, Chuck would have been 6, Richie would have been 4 and Joanie 2. Maybe Joanie couldn't have helped witht he pennies thing, but I think Richie and Chuck could have. Besides, some relative was probably assisting them. There, now I have to turn to my math hw and apply all this.

Oh yeah....Well....Mrs. C was never much of a thinker, maybe she meant that Chuck and Richie did it themself and Joanie drooled cutely till someone gave her pennies or maybe she kept Mrs. C distracted so that she wouldn't notice that her two sons were digging up the couch for money. Or maybe Chuck is older than we thought so he was able to get money. I mean, my 7 yr brother managed to dig up a fifty somehow...
