I posted this similar message on Croiter's message board after I read the Good night Sweet Prinze article.
It made me angry when I read Freddie's comment about he and Tony Orlando not speaking(though not fighting) for monthes.
Freddie said something to the effect of some friend. Then Tony has the Gall to show up at the funeral (much less be a pallbearer) and tell everybody they were best friends.(best friends are there for you in life they don't wait till you die!)I'M MAD!!!!
If that comment was really how Freddie was feeling about Tony at the time of his death,I wonder how he would have felt knowing Tony was at the hospital, a pallbearer, and what would he think if he knew Tony were also telling people Freddie died in his arms!(An obvious lie)
POOR FREDDIE Almost everything I read tells me that Freddie probably had two real Friends,Jack and his Mother.
And could you believe the nerve of that woman coming up to Jack right after he bried his good friend and tried to get her reletive(who supposedly looked like Freddie) a job to replace Freddie. At least that's the way it comes across(She handed Jack her card saying he looks like Freddie)
Well I guess I've vented enough.
What do the rest of you think about the article?

I also found it repulsive that Tony was nowhere to be found when his friend needed him. He was a fair-weather friend. He hadn't seen or talked to Freddie in the three months prior to his death...but he was also in the room with Freddie when he died. I get the feeling that Tony looked at Freddie's death more as an opportunity to make an appearance than to grieve and be supportive. I also have a feeling that Freddie's life was filled with these "kinds" of friends.

This bothers me too! Some friends... Too bad he didn't know all of us. We would've been his friends. I was just telling my hubby last nite that I think Freddie would've made a great friend for me & would've understood my problems... He was there for them yet they were not ther for him. So sad... http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif Glad Tony Orlando changed his life tho...

I think Tony Orlando was dealing with his own set of problems too. He was also doing drugs. But that doesn't excuse him for being a fair weather friend to Freddie. I think Tony cared, but like all the others, stood by and watched the ship sink.
