When we were passing through central Texas (going from Austin to Houston) we passed through Seguin (I think that's where we were). While passing through there on Hwy 290, we passed "Mel's Diner". This place is a really good knock-off of the show's exterior style.
It made me start to wonder where the inspiration for "Mel's Diner" may have come from. I realize that this goes back to the movie, but it probably started from an earlier point. Anybody know where from? Is there any chance that this diner pre-dated the TV show (it definitely looks old enough).
Let me know. I'm certainly curious.
mohorton69 thanks you.
