Is Peter Billingsley, who starred in A Christmas Story, Barbara's grandson? I didn't see her name mentioned in Peter's biography. :confused:

I don't think Peter is her grandson, but I do think they are related.

Barbara has two sons from her first marriage to Glenn Billingsley (Drew and Brud). Glenn turns out to be the nephew of Stork Club Owner Sherman Billingsley.

Now, Peter is the great-grand nephew of Sherman Billingsley. Sherman's brother was Fred Billingsley, who was Peter's maternal great-grandfather.

Unfortunately, I was unable to find any information about Fred Billingsley. But, after researching all of this info, it looks to me that Peter and Barbara are related. :)

BTW, did you know that Barbara has been married three times? Her first two marriages ended because her spouse's passed away. Poor Barbara! :(

I of course knew that, but I believe it was her last two marriages that ended because her husband passed away...I think she divorced her first husband-the father of her 2 sons, but she kept the name billingsley for her acting. IMO, Barbara Billingsley sounds better than what her name would have been (Barbara Kellino or Barbara Mortensen) from her other marriages.

Oops, my bad. You're right. On the website I looked for that information, they listed Barbara's last two husbands of dying and the year they passed away. Next to her first husband's name (Glenn Billingsley), they just have "2 children" posted.

I didn't realize that Barbara's third husband, Dr. William Mortensen, had passed away. Does anyone know when he died? Barbara has had to deal with some great hardships in her life. I hope she also had some great joy to temper the sadness. She has given so much joy to others.

I noticed that there was a Peter Billingsley in A Christmas Story. I've never seen the movie straight through. I noticed his name in the credits on the TV Guide. Every time I see his name in the credits I think "Is he related to Barbara?":)

One could ask the same question about John Billingsley who plays Dr. Phlox on "Enterprise."

John Billingsley was born May 20, 1960. Both of Barbara's sons were only teenagers at the time.
