Both of these shows were on NBC back to back on Friday night and never a crossover attempt. Both shows were in the top 5 and it would have probably been interesting to see. I always like crossover episodes. Especially when both shows are doing well. Fred probably would have treated Chico the same way he did Hulio.
I have to say that I for one am glad tyhat it didn't because I hated sanford and son. (No offence to those who like it).
Of coarse Redd Foxx was not a favorite performer of mine.

That would've been cool! I love Sanford too! That show was a real riot! :)

Truthfully, I woud've liked to see that particular crossover myself, but since "Sanford and Son" and "Chico and the Man" were produced by two different companies, it probably wouldn't have happpened back then. That, or it probably never occured to NBC to do that thing....think of the ratings!!
And could you imagine the story it would've spawned? Fred and Ed, battling Chico and Lamont, as well as themselves? And Esther and Della teaming up to put these old fools in their place?
Talk about a missed opportunity!!:(

That would make a great fan fiction story... :)
