i think ppl are just trying to prove a point. if anyone else would've done it it wouldn't really be a big deal.

Yeah, that's what the problem is when a celebrity shoplifts or whatever. It becomes this big scandalous deal in the news. In reality, how many people would really care whether Winona did that or not? Sure, she's famous and all and shoplifting isn't the greatest thing to do, but it seems like when a celebrity does something that society doesn't approve of it's like the press trys to rub it in. If a regular citizen shoplifts it's like okay, somebody broke the law and the press doesn't make it that big a deal, but then if a celebrity shoplifts all of a sudden it's a big deal.

That's too bad she had to go screw up like that. She's a wonderful actress.

That's too bad....I still think she's innocent. But good for her.

They had her on videotape shoving $5,000 worth of items in her bag. She never denied she took the stuff, but claimed she was preparing for a movie role. You believe that story?
She's a convicted felon now.

did anyone see when she rose to her seat and looked really stunned after that prosecutor said something? what did she say to make her mad?

They showed the clip on Entertainment Tonight last night. Something about her having to do with a missing child's case and the woman (the D.A?) said she was using that to gain pity or something. I dunno, you'd hafta read the story.
