This show was really supposed to be like another Cosby Show with more of a serious upfront attitude, but when Steve Urkel came in.... it started becoming all about him.I actually liked the frist season better than all of them, because there was no Urkel & it focused mainly on the family!! Yeah there were episodes that dealt with a certain family member but still the whole shows were basically about steve & his problems. They might as well should have changed the title second season and called it the Steve Urkel Show.

This show lost something just like the show Good Times because both characters who were Carl and Harriet, were spinned off into their own show and were overshadowed by a ****** named Urkel. Just like J.J overshadowed Florida and James on Good Times. So Urkel was definitely the J.J of the 90's.

Thank You! I love the first season. I'm sorry, but seeing Urkel every day got on my nerves. He was still funny but truly annoying. It is a little ironic though since Jaleel White is my childhood hero and favorite actor.
