If there were any DVD memorabilia, such as paper dolls, books, toys, cards...anything like that and what?

Pickles,
I wish there were. When I learned to use a computer search engine, one of the first things I did was look for DVD merchandise. A t-shirt, poster, key chain, three ringed binder, lunch pail; anything! I came up empty, and have still not found any such things to this day.
Oddly, there is gobs of stuff out there for shows like "Lucy", "Jeannie", and "Andy", but not TDVDS. Heck, even TV Land's website store doesn't carry anything like that for our show, so you know it just must not be available. Sad, isn't it?

Yes, its odd...I have been scouring ebay on and off for some time and have yet to even find a bubblegum card, which I find really odd. It seemed like just about every tv show in the 60s had a set of those Topps bubblegum cards! I know what you mean about "I love Lucy" and some other classic shows. I guess its all in who owns the copywrites and their lack of marketing skills or techniques...to hold onto the rights of a show like this and not do anything? They're missing out...there's a huge untapped market out there lol.

Hi, All
Exciting news! I've come across a couple of things related to our show on the web. I'd like to share them with you. Anything else I find, I'll post it here, and please, everyone else do the same.

Rob & Laura Rubber Stamp! (http://rubbernation.com/item.jhtml;$sessionid$H3AHKPIAAAEVHTZENUFJPQWPERWRJPX0?UCIDs=65714%7C65727&PRID=146624) Now we can create our own art work or stationary featuring our favorite couple!

The "Dick Van Dyke Show" Bible Study Guide (http://www.entertainmentministry.com/dvd_show_bible_study.htm) This one is interesting. I once remarked to someone that I plan to treat my someday wife the way Rob treats Laura, and that I hope she's as deserving of it as Laura is. That person told me to quit watching so much TV!
This guide takes examples from TDVDS and it's characters, and shows how their daily lives exemplify principles and virtues found in the Bible.

I'm sure there's more out there!

I have in my hand an original Dick Van Dyke Show coloring book! I have had this since I was a kid. There were a few other assorted items made in the early 60's but none since.

I also have a small set of 5 DVD trading cards with portraits of the gang. very rare

I am going to be re-issuing some of these goodies, as well as other items, as part of the Ottoman Collection.

My dad has the original clown paintings from 'The Masterpiece' and also the 'squirt gun' painting a la Jackson Pollack done by Serge Carpetna (carl reiner). We've thought of duplicating these too.

So please let me know what kind of things you'd like to see so I can plan what to make. We're hoping for some unique items too - John Rich (director) has one of the original 'clapboards' used to synchronize the 3 cameras. I've thought of duplicating that.

I'd buy this, except I'd need it in large, and with Laura's pic on it!!! Oh well.

I can't download those desktop themes. I tried the one for "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" but it didn't work for me. My wallpaper, though, is Mary!:D

I publish The Walnut Times, a Dick Van Dyke Show fan publication. Can you guess where I got the name?

In addition to selling the It May Look Like a Walnut episode on videotape (which also include exclusive interviews with Dick, Carl, and Rose Marie, about the making of the epsiode), I also sell a Dick Van Dyke Walnut Times watch (which displays a color photo of a more current Dick Van Dyke holding a giant walnut) and a Walnut Times coffee mug, which boast a caricature drawing of the DVDS cast drawn by Dick Van Dyke himself.

For a fun look back at the show (assuming you still have your sense of humor and your thumbs), stop by my website for a visit. It's always nice to know there are other "nuts" out there!

Hi, David.
I've received gifts bought from David's website, and I've visited it myself. It's a great site, dedicated to the most popular DVDS episode.
David also produces and stars in a sort of "info-sketch" on the T/L dvd bonuses, about the "It May Look Like A Walnut" episode.

I subscribe to The Walnut Times, and I have to say I like it! I won an autographed picture of Larry Matthews from them. :D I'd recommend the newsletter to other DVDS fans!

Finally,
A "Dick Van Dyke Show" t-shirt! (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4008442098). But wait. No Laura? I'll pass.

I keep meaning to subscribe to The Walnut Times but haven't done it yet. I have the caricature mug they sell and love it! I just love that drawing by Dick. I wish it was available as a print. Does anyone have the photo they sell with all of the different items in the picture from different episodes of the show? I've also noticed the lack of DVDS collectibles. I have seen the coloring book on ebay a few times and would love to have it. Nick at Nite put out a DVDS watch quite a few years ago that I love too. It has the DVDS logo on the face and a small figure of Rob tripping over the ottoman. It comes in a really cool box too. I've seen these on ebay and for a reasonable price too. Then there's I think 3 old tv guides where the show was featured on the cover. I still don't have the book by Vince Waldron, but I have the one by Ginny Weissman and Coyne Steven Sanders. I like collecting photos from the show, especially the original 7 x 9 publicity stills!

Yesterday, I ordered the Vince Waldron book, Carl Reiner's Autobiography and Rose Marie's autobiography. All 3 of my kids are on swim team this summer and I thought these would make good poolside reading!

I forgot about Carl and Rose Marie's books--I really want to read those too. Let us know how you like them! Mary's written a book too hasn't she? I know Dick talked about not having written an autobiography on one of the DVD commentaries, but I sure hope he does one day--I would love to read about his life! I always wonder if he was funny when he was a kid and what he was like growing up. He must have so many great stories to tell!

I hope Dick writes his autobiography someday too! It would be disappointing if he never does, but that's his choice and I respect his privacy.

I haven't read Carl's, Mary's, or Rose Marie's books yet, but I plan to this summer! In each of their books, a lot of the same events are mentioned I imagine. So I think it would be interesting to read each cast member's book after the other to compare their opinions on the same events. Well, happy reading Lolac! :read:

FYI - I was advised by the licensing individuals at Viacom that Mary's image is not included on any merchandise at her request.

Nope.
While Mary is an actress who has played many rolls over the years and decades of her carreer, and I admire her body of work, I LOVE the character, "Laura Petrie," and will forever be grateful that she gave her to us. I guess I've always known to separate the two - but perhaps now more than before. :(
