No, I was born after the war was over. My uncle was in Vietnam though, and both my grampas were in World War II.

I have an uncle who served in Vietnam and he was involved in the My Lai Massacre, in which he and his other fellow marines opened fire on a Vietnamese village and killing a whole bunch of women and children. He killed a 14 year old Vietnamese girl.

It was because the military sent troops over there without proper training in how to fight in the jungle. We knew how to fight in German climate but had no clue in the tropics. Big 'ol DUH to the military for that one.
