View Full Version : No More Cheering
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 12-04-2002, 04:08 AM On Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley and other shows from that time, as soon as a character entered the audience went wild (Fonzie), but I dont see that anymore! Sometimes theyll be a special guest star and they wont even get a reaction. I wonder why.
Chad22 12-04-2002, 04:14 AM Cause their arent any good primetime network shows anymore. The few good ones (Malcolm In The Middle, Andy Richter Controls The Universe) dont have laugh tracks or a studio audience. They really need to pick up and start bringing back funny, yet family type sitcoms.
Personally, i don't miss the audience cheers, i always thought they were a distraction.
The last character who really got a great audience response was probably Kramer from "Seinfeld."
Penny Lane 12-04-2002, 11:42 AM I don't know but what a vast improvement! YAY!  :woohoo: :woohoo:
Adamantium 12-04-2002, 07:36 PM In an episode of "George and Leo", there were tons of guest stars: Bill Daily, Peter Scholari, Julia Duffy, Marilu Henner, Jeff Conaway, a woman from "Dear John", and from "Newhart", Larry, Darryl and Darryl. The thing that bugged me, is that each time one of the actors came out, no one cheered.
*GoodMorningCalgary* 12-04-2002, 07:39 PM not only that but, they never cheer when the character does something neat or amazing and they never say awwwww anymore...too bad:(

I'm sorry if this is off topic, but I love the Star Trek pics you have been posting Jenny!
The Star Trek IV picture you've added is great! I'm sure you're just as excited to see the next Star Trek flick "Nemesis" as I am!
:)
Now back to your regularly scheduled topic...

Thank you. :) The 4th is my favorite ST movie I've seen so far. That movie is just one laugh after another. I wanted to find a pic of Scotty talking to the old fashioned computer. You remember that scene? Then Bones gives him a computer mouse and he starts talking into it. Use the keyboard.

Okay, I think I found a good pic of the computer scene. Can you see it or are you seeing a red x where a pic should be?

Because it Jumps The Shark and that's all there is to it. Its also CheeseWiz to the Marrow that is Bones! If I had seen this in the Brady Bunch or:
Brady Grid
I and Robert Reed would have had a fit.
Amen.
And the Brady Bunch or Brady Grid:
Righteous Man.

I think Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, and Family Matters suffered from cheering the most, though oddly... i miss it.
True, but those are my fav. shows (Well, FM sorta), but ugh.. I mean..The Fonz was cute, but not THAT cute!!! LOl. I always found it funny when a character would get SCREAMS, then the next one would walk in and...NOTHING.
