Georgia's on my Mind 12-03-2002, 06:30 PM ok, I just heard this on the news, at the supermarket MY MOM goes too, some family found a HUGE black widow spider in their bag of grapes. Yeah and the supermarket issued the statement, that some growers use spiders as pestisides, so it isn't unusual to see one once in awhile. It was a venimous black widow spider too... If the supermarket knows since the supermarket issued the statement that because some people put pesticides on the grapes and if it isn't unusual to see one every once in awhile, why don't they have somebody who inspects the grapes for the spiders before they put them on the shelves with all the other food? I know my dad is very picky when it comes to getting fruit from the store. He'll always check to see if they're too soft or not ripe enough before he gets any.
