View Full Version : Split Credits Die!
RainMan 12-03-2002, 03:02 PM Can't networks hold their advertising for at least TWENTY SECONDS?
God they have to have advertising on EVERYTHING!
TNN is the worst!
I hate it
Now Nick at nite and tv land are doing it!
I hate it I hate it I hate it!
Nathan Bush
Penny Lane 12-03-2002, 04:18 PM I hate it too! There have been a lot of times that I wanted to see who an actor was in the program(his name) but with that blasted split screen I can't read it most of the time! Very Very Annoying!:smash:

I agree too! It's stupid and weird!
Fonzie87 12-03-2002, 05:04 PM It drives me nuts seeing those stupid advertisments!
FOLrocks1 12-03-2002, 05:04 PM Don't even get me started on those! I hate them....let's just say that!
JethroSimpson 12-03-2002, 05:08 PM I hate them, they don't do it as much over here but everything I've got taped from America always has either someone talking over the credits or a split screen.
Georgia's on my Mind 12-03-2002, 05:36 PM i dont care.....
Brian Damage 12-03-2002, 05:56 PM I think it's disrespectful. I'm sure it takes a lot of hard work to put together a show and I think the people who put it together should be properly aknowledged.
fr00ti 12-03-2002, 05:59 PM I hate it too. Its really annoying.
Crimson and Clover 12-03-2002, 06:10 PM that is very, very annoying, especially when you want to see who an actor is and you cant.
Impressions 12-03-2002, 06:24 PM Both Split-Screen and Voice Overs are bothering, when they interupt parts of shows and ending credits, they can be a bit irratating, even when stripts of advertisements or upcoming shows, that roll across the screen can be very disturbing. I don't see why they have to do this to get people's attention.
Plata 12-03-2002, 06:24 PM I hate them, too. Sometimes I'll hear a good song from a film on tv and I try to see it at the end credits and all I can see is white fuzz because the writing is so small. If stations want to shrink screens to advertise commercials, they should stop putting them on at the end credits and show them during the commercial break like other stations. I notice the shrunken screen all the time on TBS and sometimes ABC.
RainMan 12-03-2002, 07:27 PM The Following stations that I have seen have split screens:
TNT
TBS
NICK (Especially the Kids part of Nickelodeon)
NBC
CBS
FOX
ABC
WB
TLC
DSC
ABC Family
WGN (Kind of)
USA
TVLAND
DISNEY Channel
Lifetime
And I'm sure there are other channels:
Surprisingly TNN doesn't have split screen does it?
The following i know of do not:
PBS
SHOWTIME
CNN
ESPN
Syndicated Programs
Can't think of any else right now.
Sean Snow 12-03-2002, 08:50 PM I hate when they do that! It's so annoying.
Sci Fi is the worst, imo. They split it horizontally instead of vertically (I mispelled those, oh well), and take up 2/3 of the screen. You can't even make out any of the names for shows where the end credit font is small.

Yup!
RainMan 12-03-2002, 08:53 PM Sean Snow they do that on Disney too.
Juss Like Jo Po 12-03-2002, 08:54 PM They dont bother me that much...you wanna know what does tho?...the stupid black line on TNN i cant see half the screen
DarleneIllyria 12-03-2002, 09:11 PM I agree. The black bar bugs me, so does the split credits and voice overs.

I agree. They arent getting the credit that they deserve!
Czas na Zywiec 12-03-2002, 09:26 PM Ya know, it's amazing that networks even leave the opening credits of old shows in! Even though some are cut up to death too. I mean look at sitcoms today? Hardly any of them have opening credits longer than 30 seconds. Reba's opening credits are only 5 seconds long! It's ridiculous!
Brian 12-03-2002, 09:31 PM I would love to see the writers, cast members, crew members, etc. complain to those networks doing the split credits. That would be interesting and funny.
RainMan 12-03-2002, 09:35 PM Well the thing to that is Some shows had theme song credits but they went to air the show first and show the credits while the show is going on:
Some of the shows are:
Family Matters
Step By Step
Boy Meets World
The Drew Carey Show
