View Full Version : Watch FOL, or meet the president, yes THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES?
RainMan 12-02-2002, 01:32 AM If you had a decision of going to meet the president i mean the PRESIDENT of the United States, would you rather watch FOL or meet the president?
I would watch FOL because everyone cracks jokes about me being related to the pres since my last name is Bush lmfao!:)
President's Nephew,
Nathan Bush
PS I'll talk to ya later Uncie George!
Czas na Zywiec 12-02-2002, 01:40 AM Ya know, not to be offensive, but you post some of the wierdest stuff on this board.....

I'm known to be weird lol
SO WHAT IS YOUR CHOICE??
Nate
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 12-02-2002, 01:47 AM I already met the president (got his sign. too!!!), but Id rather meet him again. I cant watch FOL anytime. Ok, no wait I cant because its not on TV anymore and I only got the first tape of CH, but yea lol.
DarleneIllyria 12-02-2002, 02:00 AM Don't really care about meeting the President, so I'd have to say watch FOL. If we were talking about meeting somebody I liked (Batman, ST, or TAGS cast) I would have to say meet them. lol

Ditto.
Georgia's on my Mind 12-02-2002, 04:07 PM watch fol, i hate the president.
Ags2000 12-02-2002, 04:22 PM Well, I've already made that decision. Earlier this year I went to D.C. for the week for a convention and got to meet the President go on a tour of the White House etc... He's a great guy :D
D
Kay Scarpetta 12-02-2002, 04:58 PM I couldn't care less for Bush. I'd watch FOL anytime.
GORE IN 2004! patriot:
Impressions 12-02-2002, 05:17 PM Interesting Question, LOL. Anyways, If I had to make a decision, between the president or FOL, I think I would have to choose FOL, I'm not that interested in meeting the president, I wouldn't mind to meet the president, but without FOL, I would be missing out on something important part of our television heritage. I can always watch the president on TV, so I wouldn't really have to go through all that trouble just to bother to meet him. It's a tough choice, but again I have to go with FOL.

I highly agree with O.P. on this.
There are too many postings already, which take up space, make it nearly impossible to find information (try searching for "Natalie's hat" and see how many you get), and are often just not worth reading through.
I really get tired of seeing this stuff. If you want to post, make it worthy. There are enough "would you rather..." posts on the FOL board to choke a cow, so why add to it?
Plus, what do you get out of it?
Jim
PS -- KMART SUCKS!
MrsGarrettRocksMySocks 12-02-2002, 06:15 PM ahh...who cares how many "Would you rather" topics there are...as long as people are having fun...
Umm...why not meet the President while listening to audio tapes of FOL?!?! lol..he'd ask what you're listening to and you could go into this whole huge, "The bestest sitcom ever..." thing. Course, then you run the risk of having his body guards jump in front of him, protecting him from you because they think you're some dangerous freak obsessed with an 80's tv show...but, hey, it might be a kick?
"What's life without kicks?"
"Death"
fr00ti 12-02-2002, 06:21 PM Sorry, neither. I'd rather meet Martina :D!!!!!!

ABlairican Pie 12-02-2002, 07:26 PM Watch the Facts of Life, of course!!!!!
Of course, if the President had cable, I'd do both...:happyface
RainMan 12-02-2002, 07:28 PM Maybe the president likes FOL!

I agree. Maybe YOU dont, but I know I come to the boards to have fun. Yeah, I like to pick up on information, but I can just go to FOL Online to get all my info. I like the games on this board (along with all the other boards I go to), but if you really have a problem with it maybe we can have just one big topic for ALL games, that way it stays in that one thread.

I know some people don't like the would you kind of threads, but the fact is if we didn't have those right now this board would be dead- just like the DS board.

These topics seem stimulate interest, and fun to post to, I have nothing against them, having these kind of topics around make this board bring a lot of attention and awaken this board. Since it's hard to think of a provoking topic, these topics just go further and expand your view and opinions.

Who cares? At least someone's posting on this board! Like Jenny mentioned, this board would be dead without these posts. This was once the most popular board on SOL. Without "strange" posts, where would this board be?
Anyways, to answer the question, I'd rather watch FOL. I think George W. is an idiot.
LucyFan 12-06-2002, 01:46 AM Hello ,
Hmm. What would I choose? That's easy! I would choose to meet President Bush over watching The Facts of Life for the following reasons: It could be my only opportunity to meet the president of Unites States so why not take it, I can see The Facts of Life whenever. But the main reason is that humans have A LOT more value than some tv show.

Hate to break it to ya hun, but Facts ain't playing 'whenever' as you've stated. We all know why you've loved these last 2 months so much.
JDS84 12-12-2002, 08:09 PM I would watch The Facts of Life.

Uhhh...Let's rephrase the question. By that token, would you rather see Howard Stern in person, or Eminem in person, or Rush Limbaugh in person, or Michael Jackson in person, or Saddam Hussein in person, than watch "some t.v. show"?? Hey, more valuable persons, right?
Hershey 12-13-2002, 05:07 PM Watch FOL.

I didn't mean anything against Rush Limbaugh, if anyone was wondering. I used these names that bring a certain negative reaction in some viewers, just as an example. Lucyfan said that PEOPLE are more important than some t.v. show. I wanted to make the point that, well then, would you want to choose to meet whoever, just on the virtue that they're a flesh and blood human being...over THE GREATEST SITCOM IN EXISTENCE?????

Human beings are more valuable because they are created in God's image whereas with a t.v. show isn't.

The Facts of Life is more valuable because it's ART, and art shows
more about values, ideas, etc. than the ramblings of a president.
Art IS something made in the image of God, because since God is the ultimate Creator, man, who is also made in the image of God, is a creator as well. We are doing something that God has created us to do.
BlairandJo 12-15-2002, 12:59 AM I am already in a weird way related to the president, and I've seen his plane flying over my house on his why to his ranch; So I would watch FOL.
The Obsolete Man 12-30-2002, 04:28 AM Well, this is a simple question...
The president is an evil idiot bent on dragging this country into a senseless war.
The Facts of Life is good, classic TV.
You go meet the President.... just give me your FoL tapes to watch while you're gone.

For the first time in over ten years, we have had the specter of nuclear war hanging over our heads.
I'm scared.
Will we live to see the Facts on t.v. again??:(
Btw, Obsolete Man, is your username based on Romney Wordsworth from the Twilight Zone episode? That was one of my very favorites!!!!

Oh God, I'm scared to death over it too.
I was wondering the same thing about Obselete Man's sn too. I like that episode of TZ. Burgess rocked in every episode he appeared in.
The Obsolete Man 12-31-2002, 07:36 AM Yes, yes, the name is from the 65th Twilight Zone episode. I'm shocked to see anyone recognize it.
It was the first Twilight Zone episode I ever saw (thanks to a Sci-Fi marathon), and it just happened to be able to be turned into really cool sounding name.

It's a really cool name. I like it. Any of you watching the big TZ marathon? I'm taping it, but I don't think I'll be able to get all of it. Georgia is under a thunderstorm warning. At least it might rain, but in the back of my mind I'm starting to think some of these marathons are cursed to me. Half the time that I tape these big marathons, it never fails for the electricity to go off.
Stop by the TZ board sometime. It's on the Drama board.
angel676 12-31-2002, 06:30 PM No contest, I would rather meet the president of the U.S. I can watch
FOL anytime, but to me, meeting the
president is alot more important then
some tv show. JMHO!!
