Michael Nader used to be Joan Collins boyfriend on the show. Michael also played on All My Children as Dimitri & he was Erica's man & Edmund's brother. What channel does Dynasty come on now on cable? Is it the soap opera station? Sean Snow 02-09-2003, 04:18 PM I watched Dynasty for the first time today (I got SoapNet on Friday). I like it a lot! It was great. isiahthomas: Yes, SoapNet airs Dynasty. Sean Snow 03-10-2003, 09:35 PM Originally posted by Sean Snow I watched Dynasty for the first time today (I got SoapNet on Friday). I like it a lot! It was great. Well I've been watching it for over a month and I still think it's great, lol. On Wednesday Diahann Carroll's first episode airs. I'm looking forward to it. I wish Pamela Sue Martin hadn't left after season 4. I think she's great as Fallon, and I'm looking forward to SoapNet eventually getting back to season 1 and 2, since I hear PSM was at her best then. I've seen an episode of The Colbys, and Emma Samms did a good job as Fallon in it but I don't think she was as good as PSM. I've watched since SOAPnet started airing it back in November, have almost every episode on tape, lol. Pamela Sue Martin WAS Fallon. Even though I'm a guy, I think I can enjoy a good soap, lol. Anyway, Emma Samms was good as Fallon, but she overracted at times (At least she did on "The Colbys", I've never seen her as Fallon on "Dynasty") and there was just such a character difference between Pamela and Emma. For some reason, I've always liked Pamela Beller (Claudia). Both Beller and Sue Martin leave at the end of the fourth season. I'm looking forward to seeing Diahann Carroll's first appearance. I wonder if SOAPnet will air the reunion movie after the series' rotation ends. I ask because SOAPnet has yet (at least to my knowledge) to air Knots Landing: Back to the Cul-de-Sac. I'm also still waiting for SOAPnet to finally acquire Dallas. That's the one primetime soap missing on their lineup that needs to be added. Melrose Place would be nice too, but I can't see that on SOAPnet any time soon. Do you mean Kathleen Beller (Kirby) or Pamela Bellwood (Claudia)? Beller is the one that leaves after season 4, Pamela Bellwood stayed until 1986. Anyway, yeah, for some reason, I always have seemed to really like Pamela Bellwood. Why I thought Bellwood left at the end of Season 4 is beyond me. I've read enough of the recaps and such I should know. Sheesh, I'm so out of it tonight. Thanks for the corrections. She's an interesting character and Pamela Bellwood plays her very well. Pamela Sue Martin WAS Fallon. I totally agree. Fallon didn't seem recastable to me. I thought they did a way better job recasting Al Corley with Jack Coleman as Steven. I wonder if SOAPnet will air the reunion movie after the series' rotation ends. I hope they do, since the reunion movie wraps up the show's storylines. I'm also still waiting for SOAPnet to finally acquire Dallas. It would be great if they did that. I used to want to watch Dallas more than Dynasty, but now that I've seen Dynasty I don't think I'll like Dallas better than it, lol. But I'd still like to see it. Sean Snow 03-17-2003, 09:39 PM According to TVGuide.com, starting March 31st Dynasty will begin to also air at 5:00PM on weekdays. I don't know whether it starts over or it's just a repeat of the 10:00am episode. [probably the 10:00am one, but I can hope ;)]. Knots Landing is gaining the 4:00PM timeslot that day also. Wow, really? That makes it handier. Maybe they are just fillers for new shows? One can hope... lol. I know Knots Landing had a 2nd timeslot, and then Dynasty took over it's 2nd slot. Are these eastern times? Because on satellite, I get Dynasty at 1:00PM (three hours later than 10:00AM), Knots Landing at 2:00PM, etc. So, if it's 5:00PM, than for me it's either 5PM or 8PM. LOL, confusing. I'm sure I'll figure it out though. Maybe SOAPnet.com has a new schedule up. EDIT: Well, I doubt they are fillers (but I still hope they are). For me, Dynasty and Knots Landing will also air at 7:00PM and 8:00PM. Which is great. I find the move a bit odd, though. Not that I watch the other daytime soaps, but it pushes them back even later, unless more changes were made. SOAPnet.com hasn't added a new schedule, so maybe it isn't a permanent move? SOAPnet.com hasn't added a new schedule, so maybe it isn't a permanent move? Yeah, I was wondering why they were getting rid of their afternoon airings of the daytime soaps [although they added Port Charles at like 6:30PM I think]. I guess they thought the evening airings is enough, or maybe Dynasty/KL have been getting good ratings? The 5:00PM airing is gonna be a repeat of the 10:00am airing, so on March 31st episode 100 ("That Holiday Spirit") is going to air at both times. I'm still hoping those timeslots are just fillers, lol, but we'll see I guess. I'm sure SOAPnet.com will have some info up soon. I'm not sure about the ratings, I'm guessing about the same thing you are. Thanks for the scoop though! Sean Snow 03-28-2003, 11:51 PM It looks like they changed the SoapNet schedule so that Dynasty doesn't get the 5pm airing. *shrug* Sun 30 1:00 AM Dynasty 26 SOAP Sun 30 2:00 AM Dynasty 26 SOAP Sun 30 3:00 AM Dynasty 26 SOAP Sun 30 4:00 AM Dynasty 26 SOAP Sun 30 5:00 AM Dynasty 26 SOAP Mon 31 10:00 AM Dynasty 26 SOAP Tue 1 10:00 AM Dynasty 26 SOAP Wed 2 10:00 AM Dynasty 26 SOAP Thu 3 10:00 AM Dynasty 26 SOAP Fri 4 10:00 AM Dynasty 26 SOAP Mon 7 10:00 AM Dynasty 26 SOAP Tue 8 10:00 AM Dynasty 26 SOAP Wed 9 10:00 AM Dynasty 26 SOAP Thu 10 10:00 AM Dynasty 26 SOAP Fri 11 10:00 AM Dynasty 26 SOAP I think they're skipping the weekend run on next Sunday because of the Soap Opera Digest Awards...The Colbys aren't airing that Sunday either. NOTE: werm whenever I view the seperate listings for SoapNet on TVGuide.com for the week of April 7th - 11th, they list Dynasty as airing at 9:00am. However, when I actually click on the name it shows up as 10:00am. *shrugs* I guess that's just an error on their site. TVJunkie101 03-29-2003, 08:41 AM Thanks for the update. Weird. Why would they make the changes, then not? Is the schedule staying the same as it is now? Darn, I was hoping those extra airings were fillers for new shows. I've been meaning to ask, and this may be a dumb question, but what does "werm" mean? LOL. Sean Snow 03-29-2003, 03:28 PM Originally posted by TVJunkie101 Weird. I'm just thinking out loud, but maybe it's because they thought that the soaps might be frequently pre-empted due to the war in Iraq? *shrug* I've been meaning to ask, and this may be a dumb question, but what does "werm" mean? LOL. LOL. Well it's hard to say. Here's the explanation I gave a few weeks back: "Well that's hard to answer lol. I usually put werm when I'm either thinking or when I'm confused, though usually it's when I'm thinking. Technically werm means everything yet means nothing, but that's the two ways that it is commonly used by me, the other people who use members of the erm family, and the creator of werm, Beruche. That is the lesson on werm. ;)" TVJunkie101 03-29-2003, 03:35 PM Thanks for the explanation on werm. Yea, you could be right about the scheduling thing. Or it could have just been a mistake made by TV GUide or something, lol. Sean Snow 04-14-2003, 06:25 PM During Dynasty today, a thing came up [one of those pop up bubble things] and it said that starting April 28th, Dynasty will also be airing at 5:00pm. I guess they shelved their plans originally and are now showing it at 5pm. Dynasty will be in early season six when the 5pm run starts. I tape it regularly, but don't always get to watch. So it will be on at 10am and 5pm starting April 28th. I always like when a network schedules an extra airing in case you missed the earlier one. Thanks again. Hawkee 05-09-2017, 03:13 AM My mom used to watch Dynasty when it first came out and she liked all the action and adventure that Dynasty had and when Dynasty was shown in reruns on SoapNet Mom liked it even more. It's hard to believe that when it first debuted on ABC in 1981 Dynasty would become a huge monster hit for ABC in it's primetime lineup and Dynasty had a lot of interesting storylines and amazing action scenes full of adventure that kept fans wanting more and some scenes that bring a lot of memories to people who were fans of Dynasty such as the famous water fight in the lily pond scene that's a favorite scene of Dynasty of my mother and me. And because of Dynasty's popularity it made the names Krystle Fallon and Alexis popular for girls and that was really cool. But when Dynasty ended in 1989 I think ABC really came up for more ideas for shows like Dynasty that really would inspire what ABC has become today and I think the late and talented Aaron Spelling really had a great mind when he created Dynasty and made it really successful. But I do wish for more shows like Dynasty because it would sure be cool if primetime soap operas made a comeback to TV Bestie tlc38tlc38 05-09-2017, 09:31 AM ^The best and closest primetime soap to Dynasty was Desperate Housewives. It was very good with an amazing cast. |
