In regards to the show being about the kids, Bobby really was the unique child among the entire bunch. He was different from all the other kids.

During the first season his hair was dyed darker, to match the other Brady men. Think about it. There must have been a reason that he was chosen to be on the show.

He must have had a special quality, that even his hair color was irrelevant (given that hair color was a major deciding factor in the hiring of most of the cast).

I agree Bobby was always my favourite character!

Bobby was cute. I don't watch the show too often, but it seems that whenever I do, the storyline revolves around mostly Greg, then Marcia. It could be just the episodes I'm catching.

I never liked Bobby really. But, I liked him best the 2nd season.:D

He was natrual red-head, so that explains why his hair was darker than then rest of them, they dyed his hair brown so that they could fit his hair color into the rest of the actors on the show.

According to Mike Lookinland, he and another kid (who subsequently ended up on the concurrent "Here Come the Brides" series) were kind of the "finalists" for the part of Bobby...apparently, the producers liked Mike L best, but they had to dye his red hair black so it would match the other Brady men... Mike said one of his earliest memories of being involved with the B Bunch was sitting in a chair and staring at the bottle of dye as they were putting it on him...

Also, a lot of the behind the scenes people involved with the Brady Bunch pretty much agreed that Bobby was the best actor (and the most natural) of all the kids...
