The Sopranos follows the family and mob lives of New Jersey boss Tony Sopranos. Following a panic attack, Tony begins to attend therapy with psychiatrist Jennifer Melfi, where his upbringing, criminal lifestyle, and relationships with his wife and children are examined. Throughout the series, Tony must contend with various power struggled instigated by gangsters both inside and outside of his organization, though perhaps his greatest antagonist is his own mother, who he recently moved to a retirement community.
