How’d this thread started less then a month ago end up in chit chat classic already?

I mean it’s good and all. But classic?

stevea 07-18-2026, 12:52 PM My fault. I thought, since it was specific to one day, like birthdays, it could leave regular chit-chat.
I'll move it back.
stevea likes to keep the main section organized with current topics. I guess he thought it was time sensitive.
I told him I was fine with the birthday threads being moved to Classic after a week or so. I'm not crazy about the more recently started threads being moved there so quickly.

I guess it was time sensitive at first, but then it kinda drifted into Name a Leon territory.
stevea 07-18-2026, 01:00 PM Right. Hopefully I'm doing better.

You are correct. I need to look more closely at the joke potential.
stevea 07-18-2026, 01:07 PM Also, once in a great while, there are subjects that are so ridiculous, that I'll move them pretty quickly. Such as a resurrected thread from 2007 about blowing bubbles. I know, I know, it has potential.
stevea 07-18-2026, 01:10 PM One other on-topic remark -- setting a record, perhaps, on a popular birthday -- Bonniegirl! Her birthday was so popular that it probably stuck around for about two or three weeks!
icecream 07-18-2026, 03:37 PM Birthday threads should not be banished to Classic after just a week. :mumble: Some of our members only make it here a few times a month. Leave them two-three weeks. I had thought Classic was created more for the inevitable Dude bumps from 2 decades ago. Something created recently is not classic! ohno:
stevea 07-18-2026, 03:56 PM I did not start the moving of the Birthday Bot greetings--Todd or a mod had been doing that, probably since Classic started. I can leave them past a week, or longer, or permanently, if Todd wants it that way.
I don't think Classic was started for Dude bumps.
icecream 07-18-2026, 04:05 PM They don't have to stay permanently, but I don't like them being sent away after just one week. Why the rush to get rid of them?
stevea 07-18-2026, 04:12 PM Todd suggested a week. Let's see what he says. For all I know he might say to just leave them.
Dude111 07-18-2026, 05:41 PM Right. Hopefully I'm doing better.Your doing excellent Stevie!!
I just replied to that thread and wished everyone a good Leon day :)
icecream 07-18-2026, 06:16 PM Also, can the Taco Bell thread be edited to remove the d word from the title? I am tired of seeing that disgusting title continue to come up near the top of Chit Chat.
stevea 07-18-2026, 07:10 PM Yes, i edited it.

The birthday threads are unlikely to get any more replies after a week of no replies. How often does someone wish a belated happy birthday after more than a week?
We need to have the most active threads in the main section. The birthday threads are still viewable and open for replies in Classic.
