I used to love that show. It's such a shame they cancelled. Does any reruns still come on? I enjoyed it very when they showed boot camp on there. And miss seeing Pat Ferrari too. Sally was one of the best talk shows out there. Better than Ricki or Jerry.

I used to watch it. Do they even show it in reruns? I think they do like late at night....at least they used to.

They no longer show repeats of the show, at least not here in NY. I went to the show a couple of years back.(As a part of the audience, not a guest. ;)) I also went to the Montel Williams show and Conan O'Brien Show. (My cousin was a guest on Conan :))

My cousin is Missy "The Missle" Giove. She is an extreme bike rider who competes in stuff like ESPN's X Games. She's really good and has been on Conan and David Letterman a few times. She's a real whacko though.

Lol She lives in Colorado, but who knows when/if she'll be on again. If you saw Missy, you'd never forget her. She has wild hair and wears a bone of her deceased dog around her neck. I told you she's crazy!

One that I graduated with this past year was on sally in 1996. She was on the show telling about how people made fun of her cause she was fat.

Yeah, I used to watch the show. It was a pretty good show too. It is probably my first talk show that I watched. Anyways, I have heard that is got cancelled but I am confused though . . . why did they cancel it? It is because of low ratings or something?

Sorry to be bumping this up after 7 months of no replies to this, but I'm going to reply anyway.

It was my first talk show too - I think I saw it in 1992 or 1993, when Sally was about 10 years into her run. I might be wrong, but I don't think it was cancelled - Sally was just finished doing her talk show and wanted to quit, so she decided to end it for good in August 2002 (she had reruns of the past year all summer and she showed specials too, I have her specials on the Best of from 1987 until 1990 on tape). :)

I heard the show was cancelled. Ratings took a dip her last season, so out she went.

This was maybe my favorite talk show of the 90s. Allthough as a little tyke I watched it in the 80s too. LOL

About the time the studio was remodeled, (about 2001 I think) I found it to be stale. Not because of the remodeling of course (although I didn't like the new look), but because it was just getting old. I stopped watching as much, although the last season I saw probably every episode. It's funny, but after this show left, I stopped watching all talk shows. Maybe this show held up all talk shows, and I had interest for them all. (Well, almost all of them.)

I totally disliked Pat Ferrari though. That lady was a B*TCH.

I noticed she had the studio remodeled. Like you, I didn't like it as well...It just wasn't the same. :-/

2002 was the year two of my fave talk shows went bye-bye - the Rosie O'Donnell Show and Sally. :crying: I miss not watching Rosie and Sally anymore.

You know what's funny? I've pretty much stopped watching the talk shows, too. I still occasionally watch Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien, but that's usually if one of my fave celebs is on one of their shows. Other than that, count me out for a day of talk show marathons. That and the talk shows seem to have gone to the wayside of trash talk shows...Sorry, just MHO!

I'm more of a classic sitcom and TLC person, so on any given day, you can find me watching one of the classic channels or TLC. :D

Yeah, I used to watch Rosie too. Since that one gal took her place--I can never remember her name. She's on Sabrina, ya know, and now does Rosie's show--I stopped watching.

I used to watch Jenny, Ricki, and Maury while I was watching Sally, but since she's gone I've stopped the others. I still watch the late night shows--Letterman, and Conan. Sometimes I catch Leno--like tonight I will--Gotta see Josh Hartnett. LOL.

I'm all about the classics too. There isn't many new shows I'll watch now. And TLC is a great channel! I love it.

Ohhh, that's an easy one, her name's Caroline Rhea.

I agree with you. I promised myself I would start watching Caroline Rhea at the beginning of last school year, but I never upheld my promise. I like her, but her talk show just doesn't grab me like Rosie's did. I miss Rosie's set, I just don't like the set on Caroline's show. :p

*sniffle* I wish Rosie was still on....:crying:

I caught Rosie on Jay Leno about two weeks ago, but it was a rerun, it was from April when she was hosting Nickelodeon's 16th Annual Kids Choice Awards, and Jay had her come on and talk about it and stuff. Remember when Rosie was still on last year, and when she started doing yoga and would talk about it on her show? She would do this balance trick where she would balance herself on two folding chairs and not fall over? She was telling Jay about that and he didn't believe that she could do it...LOL, it was so hilarious. :D

LOL, I used to watch Maury up until sometime in 2000 or 2001. I watched from the time he came back on in 1998 until then, then his show just took a nosedive when they started constantly airing the "HE'S THE DAD OF MY BABY AND I WANT HIM TO GET A PATERNITY TEST!!!!!" episodes. I like Maury, he's a nice guy and everything but he should NOT be doing something like that. If I recall correctly, there was an episode of SNL that Ed O'Neill hosted sometime in 1990, back when Fox Network TV was still new and when Maury had his "Current Affairs" TV show on Fox. Ed was talking about his "Married...With Children" TV show, and Maury suddenly came on and said something along the lines of, "Stop talking about that TV show! We all think it's very sophomoric!" and he looked and pointed to the camera and as he pointed, the theme song to "Current Affairs" played. LOL! Anyway, I hate to see people like him going to the wayside of trash shows, they don't deserve it. =/ I've noticed (besides the late night talk shows) that Oprah and Caroline (oh yeah, can't forget the Dr. Phil dude, even though I think he's a smartass) are the only ones that don't have a trashy talk show.

On the other hand (sorry, this is going off topic a bit), I CAN'T WAIT FOR VICKI LAWRENCE'S INTIMATE PORTRAIT TO BE ON LIFETIME!!!!! Woohoo! Okay, I'm done...

That was a really long post.

Oh, when is Vicki's IP on?! I want to see that.

Caroline Rhea, oh yes! How could I forget her name? She's not a bad host, it's just hard to watch her after Rosie had been on for so many years. I heard she is no longer going to be doing the show though because it hasn't done well. I'm not sure that's true.

I saw Rosie on that rerun a couple of weeks ago! Funny stuff. I usually don't watch Leno but when I saw she was going to be on with that rerun (which I never did get to see originally), I decided to watch. And she's about the only interview of ever watched of the O'Rielly Factor, or whatever it's called--with Bill O'Rielly. I got to see that twice. I like seeing her in these interviews. She's cool.

LOL @ that SNL Show. I never remember seeing it, darn it. I did used to watch Current Affair though. And back before his talk show was shortened to just "Maury," it was good. It's a shame that in the past few years it has become such a "sellout" show. All these talk shows have changed! Except, the ones you mentioned, like Oprah, and Rosie, who kept it real the whole time she did her show.

I watch Dr. Phil a lot. He IS such a smartass! And some tabloids have been circulating about how he's got a really bad temper and was leading an abusive marriage with his first wife. You know how those tabloids are though, so I'm not sure if it's true. I wouldn't put it past him though! His first wife is coming out with a new book that will talk all about his past. Wonder if it will hurt him any? He'll probably remain successful in his talk show. I like how Dave Letterman makes fun of him.

Hiya again! :D

Vicki's IP will debut on Monday, July 7th, at 7pm ET/PT. Here is the info I pulled off Lifetime's site:

July 7
Monday
7:00 pm INTIMATE PORTRAIT: As Carol Burnett's sidekick for 11 years on "The Carol Burnett Show," Vicki Lawrence became one of the most famous faces on television with her portrayal of the outrageous "Mama." Her accomplishments include an Emmy Award and a hit single "The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia." In her "Intimate Portrait," the actress speaks about her life in the spotlight, her success and its drawbacks, including shattered personal relationships and a career tied to her mentor. Today, Lawrence is back on television in the hit series "Yes, Dear" and entertaining a whole new generation of fans. Interviews include: Carol Burnett and "Carol Burnett Show" co-stars Tim Conway and Lyle Waggoner, as well as Dick Clark, Betty White, Ken Berry and Make-Up Artist Al Schultz. [CC]

I totally agree with you on everything you've said about Caroline. It's just too hard watching her again after Rosie. I think she's cool and everything, but you know? I'm gonna go & check out to see if it's really true that Caroline is going to leave her show. It seems too soon to me, though, she's only been on since September 2002.

I missed her appearances on the O'Reilly Factor! Oh well...There'll be other appearances. :D

You can always catch SNL on in reruns on Comedy Central, so one of those days, they're bound to air it...I remember laughing my ass off when I watched it last year. :D

LMAO Dr Phil... I hate to admit it but everything he says IS true. He's that type of guy that people love to hate. I'm just glad he left Oprah's show - I was actually mad Oprah brought him on! But at least he has his own show now. lol

Sigh...I wish April 2004 would come...I'm really anxious to see The CB Show! I may just die before that from waiting for so long. I tell you, I think TV Land is trying to torture us by making us wait. :D
