Can we limit the amount of content from other sites he’s allowed to post in a given day? It’s just post after post after post of regurgitated articles (most of it clickbait, some of it written by AI), YouTube videos, posts from other forums, listicles, and mean-spirited burn-book gossip. A lot of it borders on sensationalism and exploitation.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think most of his posts drive a whole lot of engagement. I don’t speak for anyone but myself, but it’s a real turn-off to see stuff like “How so-and-so RUINED season 2 of ‘Manimal’,” “The TRAGIC life and final days of the guy who voiced Brainy Smurf for six months in 1983,” “Hey! Remember the 1990s?,” “The HEARTBREAKING last photo of Ross from ‘You Can’t Do That on Television’ will leave you SPEECHLESS!”

I feel like it’s cheap, effortless, waaaay overboard, and — most importantly — buries under piles and piles of content aggregation threads people created in good faith using their own thoughts and their own words.

It's been theorized in past threads that he's paid by some of the trash sites he gets articles from, but there's really no way to prove that.

He spends a tremendous amount of time on this site, and probably uses a lot of resources doing research.

Besides Peter Robbins' struggles, he's also linked to Youtube clickbait on Ivan Dixon, who died many years ago. There are probably others--who knows why some of these people are getting sudden Youtube attention?

There's no built-in option to limit the amount of threads and posts per day. vBulletin.org shut down on August 24, 2024. That's where I got the modifications and plugins from a few years ago. I don't remember there being any plugins to limit the number of posts by member per day.

Some people might find his threads useful and informative. It might be helpful if he finds more related threads to post in instead of creating a new thread all the time. I merge some threads from time to time.

I think a lot of posters agree with you, based on what I've seen over the years. For the record JamesG regularly posts interesting news in a way that allows you to read the full item on here, and still attributes where it came from. This is the way it should be done.

For the record, I did place TMC on my ignore list and that didn’t solve the problem. He still shows up on the forum list; I just can’t see what he the body of his posts when I click on the links. (I can see all the replies, though.)

How can I make the View Today's Active Threads / View New Posts links more viewable? They are at the top of every page as well as in the blue navigation bar. These links have been available since day one.

Putting all of his threads in his own forum would defeat the purpose of having any individual forums. There are members who are subscribed to specific forums where they get the e-mail notifications for new posts.

One of the advantages forums have over social media is an organized structure. It's also much easier to search forums and find relevant information.

It's pretty rare where he will just post a link without at least a preview. The links lead you the full article. They generally don't post the full articles on Reddit. The videos are self explanatory when they are embedded and you can see the thumbnail.

Sometimes the MeTV articles will lead to some discussion. I guess he posts them from his feed.

Why can't people who don't want to read his threads just add him to their ignore list? Maybe someone with some technical knowledge could make a Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Firefox extension to hide his threads.

There's not going to be any single option which satisfies everyone. I would also doubt there would be much more engagement with other threads if he posted less often. Unfortunately we have only 150-250 members logging in on a typical day.

I think at the time Manning was on his last leg and romo was able to escape defenders. So at the time around 2014/15 i said if I had a choice I would chose romo because he was mobile and manning was old and slow lol

That’s the part I’ve always tried to figure out. We have visual timed evidence of how long it takes to post the clickbait. Figure it takes just as long to find, collect, and organize it. Then add time for such mundane tasks as eating and sleeping. That leaves very little free time.

Why do you act like you don't use the View Today's Active Threads / View New Posts links? You aren't new to forums. You can just skip past any threads you don't have any interest in reading. The better option would probably be for you to add to him your ignore list, but I don't see you doing it.

I see his threads as documenting links for history and posterity. It's a digital archive of news.

I think your major issue is with the YouTube links you see as sensationalistic and exploitive. I don't know if you actually watched the videos on Northern Calloway (David from Sesame Street) or Peter Robbins (the original voice of Charlie Brown). I thought they were very well done and respectful. The Northern Calloway video has over 142K views and 700+ comments, so many people probably didn't know about his story. Sadly, Sesame Street largely forgot him.

I wasn't very familiar with the Waste Some Time with Jason Green channel except for a few of his TV filming location videos. He seems like a decent dude. I know he's a friend of Sean Clark (malfuncsean) who has one of my favorite channels.

When a celebrity who has been in the public eye dies, their legacy (good or bad) will remain on the internet forever. I watch a lot of cemetery/graveyard channels who cover celebrities. It's important to remember people who have brought us entertainment. They should never be forgotten.

Do some of these content creators do it for the views and advertising revenue? Of course. They need to cover their travel and other expenses to visit the graves. It's not any different with documentaries or TV specials.

It's better he puts them in a single post instead of 11 individual posts. An extremely high number of embedded videos could cause some memory issues for browsers.

Why do you act like you don't use the View Today's Active Threads / View New Posts links? You aren't new to forums. You can just skip past any threads you don't have any interest in reading. The better option would probably be for you to add to him your ignore list, but I don't see you doing it.

I see his threads as documenting links for history and posterity. It's a digital archive of news.

I think your major issue is with the YouTube links you see as sensationalistic and exploitive. I don't know if you actually watched the videos on Northern Calloway (David from Sesame Street) or Peter Robbins (the original voice of Charlie Brown). I thought they were very well done and respectful. The Northern Calloway video has over 142K views and 700+ comments, so many people probably didn't know about his story. Sadly, Sesame Street largely forgot him.

I wasn't very familiar with the Waste Some Time with Jason Green channel except for a few of his TV filming location videos. He seems like a decent dude. I know he's a friend of Sean Clark (malfuncsean) who has one of my favorite channels.

When a celebrity who has been in the public eye dies, their legacy (good or bad) will remain on the internet forever. I watch a lot of cemetery/graveyard channels who cover celebrities. It's important to remember people who have brought us entertainment. They should never be forgotten.

Do some of these content creators do it for the views and advertising revenue? Of course. They need to cover their travel and other expenses to visit the graves. It's not any different with documentaries or TV specials.
