In the liner notes of my copy of Touched By An Angel The Album I read that that the creator of Touched By An Angel wanted to create a drama series that was unique and different than any other show and provide wholesome family storylines for each episode and Touched By An Angel was born. I think Touched By An Angel sparked the trend of the popularity of believing in angels and paved the way for more inspirational wholesome family TV. Because not since Highway To Heaven debuted in 1984 we wouldn't guess that family dramas would become wholesome with wonderful storylines until Touched By An Angel debuted
