Confused? You won’t be on the fifth of July.
Dream Canteen 07-04-2026, 10:16 PM Oh wow. I did not know that. I never knew Night court was a spin off of Cheers!
Night Court wasn’t a spinoff of Cheers, but Cheers helped Harry Anderson prove he had the chops and the charm to lead his own sitcom.
In Cheers, he played Harry the Hat, a conman who knew magic tricks and was always scamming, cheating and stealing from employees and patrons of the bar. Someone at NBC or Warner Bros. Television must’ve watched one of his performances on Cheers and said, “You know? That conman would make a great judge!”

You mean like on TV the characters would move and talk and stuff, and in the photo they’re motionless and quiet? Crazy, right?

This site is so digital. It's so ... flat.
And it has a certain person who is certifiably obsessed with analogue anything, monaural recordings, and whole milk.

It certainly is flat. Could someone get it in 3-D please?

I love old mono mixes, especially early Beatles and Beach Boys, but I listen to them [gasp!] digitally.
On the fourth episode of The Price Is Right someone won a car.
Which may or may not be true. But you believed me.

Yes, particularly with the early Beatles, some were released with two track stereo, with a hard vocal and music split. George Martin is on record as not wanting them released that way; Parlophone and Capitol went against his wishes.

On the fourth episode of You Don't Say, someone said.

LOL.
I just looked it up. A Chevrolet Vega was won in the very first episode in 1972. Not sure about episode #4.

The fourth episode of Saturday Night Live had guest host Candice Bergen and musical guest Esther Phillips.
ThisLittlePiggy 07-05-2026, 06:01 PM The Flintstones Season 1 Episode 4 No Help Wanted
Fred gets Barney a job repossessing furniture and to the dismay of both, his first assignment is to take Fred's TV.
Edward216 07-05-2026, 06:52 PM Oh wow. I did not know that. I never knew Night court was a spin off of Cheers!
Night Court ISN'T a spinoff of Cheers. The only thing they have in common is Harry Anderson, and they were two different and unrelated characters. It simply means that NBC executives liked him in the Cheers' episode(s) he was in and he was offered the part of Judge Harry Stone on Night Court and he took it.
Ed.
Dream Canteen 07-05-2026, 07:15 PM In the fourth episode of M*A*S*H, Klinger makes his debut and Sorrell “Boss Hogg” Booke guest stars.

I really like most of the new stereo mixes Giles Martin has produced since 2015. With a few notable exceptions, they’re a huge improvement over the 1960s stereo mixes (especially now that de-mixing technology exists).
Still, mono is my go-to for everything through Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour. The remixes are a nice alternative I turn toward when I want an alternative.
Here’s “Yesterday,” with no hard-panning — and, for the very first time, strings in stereo.

icecream 07-06-2026, 10:59 PM Lou Grant "Henhouse"- Poor Rebecca Balding had already been fired after just three episodes as a series regular. Replacing her starting in episode 4 and staying through the whole series was Linda Kelsey, who played Billie Newman. Billie was in the women's section (referred to as the henhouse by Lou ) competing with Joe Rossi on a story. She was then brought over to metro. The women's editor was a good actress, I would have liked to see her in a recurring role.
Frasier "I Hate Frasier Crane"- Newspaper columnist Derek Mann, played by Joe Mantegna, starts a war with a column slamming Frasier.
Coach- "I'm In Love With a Boy Named Stuart"- Kelly's sniveling boyfriend Stuart Rosebrock is introduced for the first time. Hayden hates Stuart more than anyone else he has ever met!
The Middle "The Trip"- Sue sold a ton of cheese and sausages for her school's trip to Indianapolis. The school doesn't have record of it (a running gag was no teacher or administrator ever remembered Sue). Frankie reads them the riot act saying Sue earned it and should still go. She did go to Indy but was not allowed to see the places with the others. Frankie, the scatterbrained mom, later finds Sue's record of the sales that Frankie had forgotten to turn in.
The fourth episode of Starsky and Hutch had a drug raid where eventually a million dollars worth of cocaine goes missing. Evidence points the blame towards Starsky and Hutch!
Bonniegirl 07-07-2026, 10:03 PM The fourth episode of Gomer Pyle USMC was " Captain Ironpants" . Captain " Iron Pants" Martin punishes Gomer for not saluting her ; she tries to teach Gomer to treat her like any other Marine but slowly developes a liking towards being treated like a woman.
This was a really good episide.
