An I Love Lucy July 4th:

(Ricky & Lucy are talking in the kitchen.)

Ricky: “Lucy, you are gonna participate in the New York Hot Dog eating contest?”

Lucy: “Yes. I will use the money to buy myself a new dress. I love hot dogs.”

Ricky: “Lucy, you do realize that the contest is a lot harder than it looks. You really got to have a strong stomach.”

Lucy: “I do.”

(The Mertzes enter.)

Fred: “Hi everyone.”

Ricky: “Fred, did you hear that Lucy is going to enter the New York hot dog eating contest on July 4?”

Fred: “Hey that’s swell. Ethel, you ought to enter that contest because you eat like a horse.”

Ethel: “Oh shut up!”

(Ricky laughs.)

Lucy: “I got a strong stomach and I promise you Ricky that I won’t embarrass you.”

Ricky: “Ay! Yi! Yi!”

(On July 4th, it’s time for the contest as the fireworks are going to start. Lucy is eating and by the fourth hot dog is very sick. Ricky is addressing the crowd.)

Ricky: “I am very thankful to be in living in this country as a Cuban who emigrated to the USA in search for freedom when he was 15 years old.”

(Crowd cheers.)

(Lucy walks to Ricky and throws up all over Ricky and embarrasses him.)

(The Mertzes are right there as Ricky is embarrassed.)

Lucy: “Ricky, I should’ve never eaten dinner like you said. I am sorry. Ewwwww!”

(Ricky who didnt know that she ate dinner, is even more embarrassed.)
